experience with  these? or any recs on something similar but cheaper?

I thought about getting some for Rowdy but 40.00 is pricey for baby shoes that he will outgrow. Although I like the idea of him having shoes on when we go a few places since he is starting to take a few steps.

Thanks

We had those, our friends had them as well, all recommended & as it turned out true: those are very cute, mostly for sitting babies, not walking. They're too soft, don't hold the leg properly, it's still nice to put on as shoes, instead of dressing the baby & leaving him in socks only. But for the baby who starts walking - very important GOOD shoes that hold the foot properly , closed toes & behind, preferably leather, the sole has tobe hard enough, but not a "brick", still flexible.

My 1st born was a late walker and Robeez were perfect for him as he stuck with cruising mostly until 15 months. We wore them out everywhere!

My 2nd born walked right at 12 months so he got these classically styled baby shoes from Stride Rite.

I've never really gotten in to the whole Robeez trend. Hayden was walking at 11 months and he's worn a variety of shoes. The doctor said his feet developed perfectly. So sometimes I think that certain brands claim they're the best for new walkers but when it comes down to it, there are a lot of great shoes out there for little ones!
Hayden wore these his first year walking:

Mostly Nike & Timberland.  I'd throw on a Gap flip flop if we weren't going to be doing a lot of walking.

Oh, and he LOVED his Gap Water Sandals.  I bought them for the boat but he liked wearing them everywhere.

Right now he loves his Shox, Jordans & he's crazy over his Sperry Top Sider boat shoes.  They must be super comfy because he always picks them.  He has them in three colors so they'll match whatever I put him in!
Here's his spring shoe collection:

Yeah, just by posting this I have realized that Hayden has more spring shoes then I've bought for myself.  The joy of motherhood! aww

I got robeez for Jola when she was younger. I like them for when she was at the crawling stage not so much for when she was walking.

She was also an early walker (9.5 months) and I actually really liked her stride rite and see kai run shoes best.

The are having a 50% off sale on the see kai run website so you might want to check it out.

Well, I never got around to getting the Robeez despite a friend who swore by them. My daughter has used the sandals from target and shoes by Pediped. I love the pediped because she walks so much better with those. The sandals are mainly for light walking days, or sun dresses. Hope that helps

This type of soft-soled shoe is actually better for new walkers than hard-soled shoes - hard soles used to be recommended for 'support', but the studies they've done now show that soft flexible shoes are best because they allow kids to feel the floor and learn to balance and control their movements more easily.

Obviously they're not the best choice for lots of tough outdoor use once the kiddos are seriously runnin' around, but they're great for those new walkers and as sock-retaining apparatus wink.gif!

we had robeez tredz and regular robeez for my son.  if you want a soft shoe, i'd go with regular robeez (they're cheaper than robeez tredz) or the robeez knockoffs at target.  if you want a firm shoe, skip robeez and the like altogether.

ayo - good to know about the see kai run sale.  going there now . . .

Thanks again ladies. Grandma bought these last week and they are working out. Although I was not  fond of the white(hard to keep clean), however they clean real easy.
