Utah/Moab desert

Cna someone tell me where the Moab desert is? As in, what part of Utah? I tried Googling but I just kept getting links to outfitters/rockclimbing schools. I am not even sure if Moab is the place I am looking for - I want the place/park with the huge red stone monuments and weird shapes. I am pretty sure it's in Utah.

Utah is gorgeous and you could be describing a few different places...

Arches National Park - http://www.nps.gov/arch/

Zion National Park is probably the most well known - http://www.americansouthwest.net/utah/zion/national_park.html

Glen Canyon is also cool - http://www.americansouthwest.net/utah/glen_canyon/lake_powell.html

Monument Valley - that's the place! It looks like this whole area is the same kind of geography. Just contemplating a road trip next winter when it's dreary here. Is it cold in Utah/that area in Jan/Feb?

"Dirty Devil River" "Goblin Valley"? Hee...awesome. I really want to visit, and do it by car, it looks so beautiful around that area.

Thanks for all the links Detroit and Luckylily!
