i have the poetic waxing kit and absolutely love it! when you are putting the wax on, you apply it in the direction on the growth (generally down towards your legs/floor) and then pull up towards your face/cieling

does that make sense?

if you have never waxed at home before- it can be super scary at first, but by the 2nd or 3rd time- you'll be an old pro- that is how it was for me!

What makes the Poetic kit better/different than other types of at-home waxing?

I tried some horrible kit from CVS and am now petrified to try anything else.

the poetic waxing kit uses a different type of wax that is less harsh to the skin. you don't have to use any strips with it either. you just put the wax on the area that you want to rid of hair- wait a few seconds- and then pull up. my best friend gets her brazillians done at the Elizabeth Arden Spa in NYC and purposefully goes there because they, too, use a wax that doesn't require strips. something about it is less distressing to your skin. i tried kits from drugstores before this one and i would NEVER go back... i

ok, i just gotta say that i despise poetic wax! i had the hardest time using it & it was barely enough to do 2 legs, let alone my bikini!! i found it way too complicated to put it on in the exactly right thickness, wait the exactly right amount of time, then rip it off in the exactly right direction. also, the remaining bits of wax didn't come off to easily in the shower. i've been using a sugaring wax by sally hansen & i love it! it uses strips, but i find this much easier. overall i'd prefer to get a professional wax, but sally hansen is good for legs cuz they don't hurt too much. every time i've done my own bikini, not only does it hurt like hell (it's hard to get in position to rip the right way) but u usually miss spots.

I hope I like Poetic....I tried some kind in a beige and brown bottle from Sally's before and burned myself with the hot wax! I had a scab for like 2 weeks! But I can't wait to get mine in the mail......I want to start waxing again, and this seems like the most economical way to do it.

I'm with Crystal, I absolutely hate Poetic wax. I home wax all the time and I've never had a bad experience up until Poetic.

I much prefer the Sally Hansen cold wax or Nads, and they are both much cheaper than poetic.

I hope it works out for you tho, I know a lot of girls seem to like it.

i wax at home too -- make sure you trim the hair shorter, to about a quarter of an inch. it hurts a lot less! also, pulling your skin taut as you apply the wax makes it easier and less painful. hold it taut as well when you pull the wax off.

isn't that funny that one person can love one product so much and another loves the other???? i wonder what the difference between the way we use them is???
