I need your input on merging some stuff or getting rid of it on the forum...

I support anything that bumps participation in the polls sections - IMO some of the most interesting threads are found there!

I kind of like Toasts & Roasts as its own section because it's easy to scan if you're looking for feedback on a specific site. However, I sometimes see posts that should go in T&R on other categories so maybe people prefer not to use it?

I think General Chat gets a lot of posts that should go into News and Announcements because people want them to be seen by more people, so it makes sense to merge those.

I def. think tech /news and announcements can be merged with gen chat, I think we all already post like they're merged anyway!

I don't really have an opinion on merging the polls or toasts and roasts....but personally, I don't notice much traffic in toasts and roasts anyway so I don't think we'd really miss it if it was gone!

I'm going to go ahead and do all the changes except for merging the polls. still on the fence with that one...

ETA: shoot - I thought I could merge, but it looks like that command is gone now... ugh

I hate to delete any of those. I'll continue poking around.

I also think T&R should probably stay separate.

I might also consider merging Current Events with Entertainment since they are similar. I might call it something different though to encompass both topics.

Great idea. There are some sections I just never go in, so I think this make some posts get more cross-traffic.

I say go ahead and merge the way you suggested if you can. Those are definitely the categories that get very little traffic.

I have another site suggestion and I have no idea if you can do it, how difficult it would be, or what it would cost, but I'll throw it out there anyway (don't you love that?

). Is there a way to make a mobile ST? Like an iPhone or Blackberry app? I don't want to post on my work computer, but there seems to be no way for me to post when I'm on my Blackberry. Like I said, I don't know how feasible it is in reality, but it would be super cool.

I also cannot merge sections like I wanted to. what do you think about deleting toasts and roasts, tech style, and announcements?

for sure delete announcements, since no one uses that anymore anyway. tech could go in with shopping, or general, whichever it best applies to. not sure about T&R..

An app would be grrrrreeaat!

I def think you can delete those three sections, we could simply go to the fashion section and title "TOAST: Target Shipping" Tech style makes sense to be in the general chat and announcements could work in whichever arena, whether it be work related (career section), family related (family section) etc.

That's seems like a good idea to me seeing how those sections are not posted in very often.
