opinions needed. i just found out that for the destination wedding i'm going to over memorial day weekend will have a couple of "dressy" events. this is the description for the attire:


We plan to look as good as we can. You should dress however you wish. Bear in mind, the ceremony will be outside on a grassy bluff overlooking the sea. It should be warm, and may be breezy. Think elegant but comfortable. Neckties are not necessary. We know you all are trés façonable and FINE, so flaunt it.

What does that mean?!

Also this dress is from the Gap. I am worried that someone else might wear it since it is from a chain store. Do you think I should be worried?

im sure you will accessorize to the T, so i wouldn't have an issue with you being matchy matchy with someone else just in case the same dress shows up.

you definitely run that risk, not so much b/c it's from the gap, but mainly b/c the dress seems perfectly suited for a beach wedding. what exactly are you looking for? maybe i can help you find something.

thanks for your help honey. i would sooooooooooo appreciate any assistence with this wedding. it's like grassy hill, heels are out. anything that needs to be pressed, out of the question. i think you get what i'm saying.. i like this dress but it almost seems "too perfect." however i can't resist thinking about how cute it would be with a beaded necklace and my j. crew wrap.

here's my thread from earlier re: this wedding. when i posted earlier, i didn't realize that there would be more than one dressy occasion. i think i am going to post my other dress tonight (it's a betsey johnson dress i wore to a wedding last year... i hope it fits or that it can be tailored) and maybe amend this thread. another reason why i like this dress is that it will match these espadrilles i got (highly discounted! yipee! when i moved my stupid post office didn't forward me my very important barneys reward gift card!).

it's really cute.  it's definitely something that you have to try on and see how it looks on.  but i really like it.
