Frye boot owners.......
Permalink Closed

I know the subject of Fryes has been discussed (I did a search) but I would love some final words on them. I have wanted a pair for years, I remember seeing a pair in a thrift store 3 or 4 years ago, I was so excited but they were tiny size 5's. And I remember some of my sophisticated relatives having them in the 70's. Along with big floppy hats and macrame bags...but that is for another thread. So.....I firmly decided I would not be buying them on line because I have to try them first. And no one in my area sold them so I thought..well...there, no Fryes for me. And then I saw them..in a store window. I left my noseprint on the glass. I nearly went catatonic. So....talk me in or out. be honest, be brutal if you have to.

Please do get them, they are a GREAT investment and some of the best footwear on the market. They haven't been around for over 100 years for nothing.

I have a pair of Campus boots in Saddle and even though my personal style is pretty urban, I've been able to work these into my wardrobe easily. They keep out snow and rain well and they wear like a dream. I think they look super-cool when they're lived in and distressed, like they have a great history. I them and I don't know how I ever lived without them.

So you should get them too!

I'll likely be the only Nay on this board but Im going to go with it anyhow. I have a pair of the harness boots and I've worn them once. I just don't get whey they are supposedly so comfortable. For one, they weight like 5 pds each and there is no support in them and the only way mine fit sort of comfortable is with the thickest pair of socks imaginable. I just don't like them. Of course everone else will say differently. I think I just have spastic feet or something.

I don't like them either- I thought I was the only one Collette. I have the campus boots and have worn them 3 or 4 times and hated them. I don't find them comfy at all.

I have the harness boots and a pair of cowboy boots - they're really well made and a good investment.  They tend to run large - you may want to try on a pairs a half size and a full size smaller.  I got my actual size, but I tend to wear them when I know I'll be on my feet for a while, and I wanted something that can accomodate thick socks (michigan winters).

I got a pair of Campus Boots for Christmas and absolutely love them.  Mine are very comfy and I get compliments every time i wear them!  I will have to say though, that I have not found a lot to wear them with so far.  I have worn them with denim skirts and am planning to wear them with boho-type skirts soon, but I dont really like them with my jeans that much.  I love the look of jeans tucked into boots (like the girl on stylediary does a lot) but it is not that flattering on me.   I don't really like them under my jeans either, but I like it when I have seen it on other people.  Maybe it will just take me some time to come up with outfits I like them with I don't regret the purchase at all.  I think I will keep them and wear them for years!  Go for it!

I love my Frye boots, they are tough and dressy at the same time. I love wearing them with skirts or dresses or with pants in the snow.

i have 3 pairs and i love them. they're very versatile and quite comfy. they're not as comfy as sneakers, but more comfy than most shoes i  own, and good for times when i want to be casual but don't want to wear sneakers. if you've wanted them for a long time (i lusted after fryes for ages b/f finally getting a pair) you'll definitely get your money's worth. i usually wear them with skirts and cropped pants.

I LOVE my frye campus boots. I've had them for about 10 years and they are getting a bit beaten up, i still wear them every couple of weeks or so. I got them for $30 at an outlet in L.A. and didn't wear them for about a year because they pinched. But then I moved to New York and needed snow boots and broke them in quickly. They are so comfortable. i'm not keen on the harness boots, but advocate campus 150%.
