can i wear these bermudas?
Permalink Closed

i bought some bermudas on a whim at Old Navy the other night... here is what i look like in them...

please look past my pasty legs- i can't find the jergens natural glow anywhere!!!!

can i wear these?  are they "do-able"? and if they are... what are some different ways to wear them?  for this post, i paired it with a basic black tank and black flip-flops so that you would only look at the shorts... i probably wouldn't wear it this way in real life...

thanks!

I think I would pass on the shorts. I've seen your posts in Thread Style, and these bermudas don't do your body justice.

maybe you would want to think about black instead of hot pink? i just think wearing shorts is radical enough as it is..! :)

i wanted them in black, but they didn't have them in my size.

i already put them back in the Old Navy bag with receipt and put it by my door to take back tonight.  my gut instincts were correct, i shouldn't have bought them....

why did you put "..." at the end of that?

I LOVE that they're already in a bag, with a receipt, hanging on your door, ready to be taken back. This is why Stylethread is just so great!

those don't really do your body justice, but i don't think wearing bermudas is a hopeless cause. i would try black (or some other neutral color).  maybe size up one or two, so they're more slouchy, and look for something that hits right below the knee -- which is a more wearable length, but still short enough so that they're not mistaken for capris.

I agree with domkfox - you sounded a little down about the responses - after reading them I went back & looked at some of your thread style posts & I agree with her & tati - you have a great shape & those shorts just don't do you justice. I think bermudas are the root of all evil!!!!! I won't even try them on because I know they will just depress me. Congrats on being brave enough to try them on & then ask for opinions - that's why I love this place!

Your body looks fairly similar to mine (except you're 5' 5", right?). I think that the bermudas don't do your body justice either.

bex, I think we have a similar body type, I tried on bermudas similar to those and they didn't look right on me either. However, I think the longer bermudas that just cover the knee are flattering if paired with heels. Maybe you can try some of those out.

don't give up on the style just yet! i agree with rocky, try a bit longer style... maybe with a pair of espadrille wedges to give you a bit more height.

yeah I agree....maybe try some in a different style b.c. i think they have potential...but they're right that that particular pair doesn't do your body justice..

thanks guys for all the responses- in my heart i knew they didn't work but in my head i had all these fabulous visions of bermudas...

i did try them on with heels last night to show the BF but my metrosexual boyfriend said that they heels looked silly....

also, i did try a size bigger when i was there and they fit all wrong.. the size i had on was the best size for me...

i just don't think they work with me and i wanted to make sure i was right before i embarrassed myself in public by wearing them...

oh and my height is 5'3'' lilykind...  but i am amazed that you remembered we had similar body types!

also domkfox i put "..." at the end of all my sentences... don't know why, just always have!
