What are we getting mom for mother's day?

Well, this won't help you find something for your mom, but every year I get her Cubs tickets. Mom is a huge sports nut.

Could you plan a nice dinner out or some other activity she really enjoys and give that? You could make up a certificate for the outing and wrap that.

Mom usually gets a plant for the yard or a hanging basket.

Also, I make her a memory page for her memory book. It's a scrapbook page recalling a favorite memory of something we did together. Both my mom and dad get one at each event where they would also get a present. I'll type up the memory from my perspective, and adorn it with photos or stickers or something so it isn't just text.

My mom has been giving me a guilt trip since we moved further away about not seeing her as much (from 5 min to 1 hr away). So I am doing a girls day with her including manicures and pedicures.

I keep thinking I'd like to get her a nice grownup purse, but I rarely see any *I* like so I doubt I'd find something I'll like for her.

I got MIL a silver coffee scoop with her initials engraved on it. Anything else will be up to DH.

My mom is like your Xtina, she's very NON-fussy. She told me this year she wants a vacuum cleaner, one of those bagless, lightweight ones. So a vacuum it is! LOL And of course, I'll get her some other things, but that's her main gift. LOL

My mom is very picky and has a long list of gifts that she thinks are "inappropriate." So, I am taking the safe route and getting flowers and taking her to dinner.

My mom's hard to buy for too but the 2 gifts that usually work are

1.) a book I think she'd like... either the subject matter would interest her or something I read and enjoyed

2.) Beauty products she would like... one year I got her a bunch of cool skincare products and another year I bought her a bunch of 'cult' favorites like Nars Orgasm, Shu Umera eyelash curler and Fresh deotarant.

Well my mom raved about the Magnolia Bakery vanilla cupcakes I made last month, so I am going to make some more just for her.

I was thinking about buying her a rose bush, in a different color than the one she's had forever near her front porch.

My mom is one of those who hoardes...haha...so I don't want to buy her "things."

Last year I bought her a Bissell Little Green.

I ended up getting her something very unpractical that will pull at her heartstrings.

I took a photo of me & mom hugging, am getting it turned into a canvas print and put lines from her fave poem on top.

I got my mom a book about french style (she loves France) and dh and I took her out to a nice dinner this past weekend. She's not the easiest person to shop for, so I feel like treating her to time and some one-on-one attention is what she really enjoys.

A chair for the grandkids baseball/soccer/football games that she goes to. It is big, comfy, and has a canopy. Found it at the swap meet for $65. Also cash for her trip to Mexico this summer.
