Spring has sprung and the weekend's begun...

So now that the warm weather is back, what are you girls looking forward to doing this summer?  I always feel as though when it warms up...weekends are BACK (cause ya know, they so go away when its cold and rainy!).
I definitely miss OH a bit...Easton mall in particular...because of the outdoor shopping.  But I'm looking forward to farmer's markets and Philly strolls with my sis, and street fairs and outdoor theatre.
Anyone else have some great summer weekend activities?

i love all the wine festivals in the spring in the dc/northern va area.  we bring the kids and they have fun b/c there is usually music and good food, in addition to wine.  other things are like you mentioned - i LOVE farmer's markets (but unfort. hubby isn't much interested in them), and outdoor shopping plazas.

I have nothing planned yet, but our 7 year anniversary is coming up in July (so I'm hoping for a little trip) and our baby is going to be around 6 months old which means fun water activities with him! :)

We always go to the beach for a few weekends every summer, so that's my favorite thing. This summer, I'm also setting up a jewelry stand at a local farmer's market, so I'm hoping that will be fun (I'm doing one Saturday per month May thru September). Other than that, just lots of outdoor dining with friends and family and baseball games (major and minor league).

It gets so hot here, there's very little to look forward to. I do enjoy there being less traffic, since people aren't driving their kids to and from school or are on vacation.

I really despise the hot weather (90 in NJ in April, no thanks!) so I'm looking forward to air conditioned weekends.

I am going to be 6, 7, and 8 months pregnant in June, July, and August so my summer is going to be quite different then the past!  Usually we hang with friends and have bbq's and drink a lot of wine.  I think I'll be spending more time in the air conditioning!  :)

I am looking forward to walks with DH and Duke to get some exercise, we always go to the Tast of Chicago in July and I don't care how hot it is, I'm not missing that!
Also, we have to skip our Door County, WI trip (which I am REALLY bummed about) because we usually go right around when I am due, and all we do is walk around and drink wine so that's kind of out for me this year.  Not to mention it's a 5 hour drive (that would just be way too many potty stops!!)

We are going to try and do a lot of local weekend camping to make up for missing our trip.

I'm looking forward to sitting in the backyard on a sunny afternoon with a new book in my lap. something good on the grill and wine in my glass. It's what I dream about on dreary January days.

My college roommate, who I haven't seen since junior year and I'm 36 now so you do the math, might come for a visit this July! We found each other on Facebook this winter and I'm really hoping that she makes the trip!

And at the end of summer, my youngest brother is getting married to a great woman. So the whole family is looking forward to that and all the celebrations that come with it.

i'm looking forward to the beach and the pool, making trips to the UP of michigan where i grew up and where most of my family lives, all the art fairs in minneapolis, fireworks, grilling, riding in the car with the windows down and the music blasting, garage sale-ing with my pals, walks to the park, sitting out on the porch watching thunderstorms, and (hopefully) moving into our first house! yay, i LOVE summer! :)

Also wanted to add, I might be getting laid off, so I could be spending a lot of time at the pool, sending resumes to San Diego and bidding for freelance jobs. smile.gif

Going up north and to the beach. Also attending the big Art Fair that comes to town.

When I was young my parents planned mystery trips for us. One morning they'd wake us up and toss us in the car, and my sister and I would guess where we were going. Sometimes it was a day trip, sometimes it was for the weekend. My mom would pack our bags for us. I miss those, so I may plan them for my husband and ask him to do the same for me.

Can I just complain for a second?

I have no AC bc the landlord promised to buy me a new one (all ACs were provided when we moved in and he tossed the old one out).

I then discovered that the screen on my window is broken so he took 2 days to fix it in the meantime I got bit by mosquitos the first night and the second I slept w the windows closed. Its 85-90 degrees in NYC, I am not enjoying this!!!
