jeans with no back pockets?
Permalink Closed

Does anyone else have problems with jeans with no back pockets?  I feel like they are OK on other people, but on me, I feel very self-conscious about the fact that there's just a thin layer of jean between my rear end and the world.  But it's not like I don't have other pants with no back pockets...it's just with jeans that I wierd out.  I just tried on the cutest trouser jeans at Gap - from the front, they were perfect - long, wide hem at the bottom - so cute.  And on sale for only $16.99!  But, from the back...I don't know - they were pretty fitted, so that's probably why I'm not sure.  But sizing up just made the waist huge and they practically fell off...  I so want to be comfortable with them...does anyone else feel the same way?

I've had the same problem with some pants at Gap.  I bought some modern wide-legged trousers that have two back pockets there around Christmas which fit me fantastically (very unusual), so I was totally excited about the new style of modern fit pants with only one pocket.  But when I tried them on I was so disappointed.  My butt looked huge and I passed.

I have given up on pants without back pockets.  They are too unflattering on me!

ew i hate them.  especially when they have a yoke like normal jeans--it just seems like something is missing.  i am not comfortable with my butt enough to call that kind of attention to it.

I feel ok if they're trouser style- I just don't like the jeans that look like 5 pocket jeans but missing the two back pockets.  They really do showcase the butt.  My birdie jeans (in threadstyle) don't have back pockets, but they're not stretchy and thin denim and they have a bird on them, so even though that draws more attention, I don't feel as naked.

Jeans with back pocket are supposed to make your booty look big (and maybe bigger for non- booty-ers).

Some might find that sexy but I don't like them. The girls around here tend to wear them from Forever 21/Wet Seal type clothes in a skanky way which could be one of the reasons why I hate them. I also don't need another reason to make my butt look bigger.

I found the cutest jeans at Nordstrom yesterday but when I found out that it had no back pocket, I decided to not even try it on.

Yeah, I hate them too.

Thanks ladies - I feel better about passing them up.  They were just so so cute - seriously great trouser jeans - from the front...why couldn't they have just sewn some stupid pockets on the back???

My dad calls them long butt pants and ever since then I can not look at them the same!! They are not the most flattering things and usually there is some kind of fading on all of the parts that most of us do not want highlighted!!!

I have a pair of Diesel jeans with no back pockets and I always thought they looked fine on me. I haven't worn them since reading the fashion faux pas post in the style poll section because several people included this on their list. Can they possibly be flattering or am I just delusional? The jeans don't really fit me anymore anyway, but I don't want to wear them if everyone is going to wonder what the heck I'm doing (I also have not worn white shoes since that post)!

You know, I thought they were fine on others, but now that I've been looking around on Nordie's site, I don't even like them on the model in these COHs...

Yea those look a little off.  Tri Sarah tops- I'm sure the pants look fine on you- I know lots of people that look good in no butt pocket jeans.  Also, what's wrong with white shoes?  Did I miss something?  I think white shoes are really cute as long as they're not too heavy.

Thanks, Lynnie, I hope the pants look ok on me!
Yeah, I don't like them on the model, but it's hard to judge because I think the pants are too loose through the thigh. the overall fit is crappy, I don't think it's just the lack of pockets.
I dont really know what's wrong with white shoes either, but a few people listed them in their faux pas post. Ever since then I've been paranoid...I don't usually take too much stock in that stuff, but I can't bring myself to wear them! It's weird, I know. I think that they do look bad if they're dirty but if they're kept fairly nice they can be cute.

White tennis shoes look funny on me. On my friend and many others, they're fine, but on me, man! do they stand out! And I'm light-skinned too so I dunno why it does...

Ok I hate the no back pocket look, but white shoes... I wear them all the time.  I have white Pumas, white flip flops, white sandals...oh no!!! Yet I know I will keep on wearing them even if you girls all think they look tacky.

i have those COH jeans that june posted and i love them!  i agree, they do look crappy on the model.  she doesn't really fill them out well in the butt or thighs.  i think the no-butt-pocket look can be very cute on the right booty!  i guess i'm biased though since i've always received compliments when i wear my COHs.  i have a good-sized butt (not huge, but there's definitely plenty there!) and once i started embracing my shape, i've felt a lot more confident.

side note:  the one thing i like about j lo is that she brought back the butt!  she (and beyonce, etc.) made it acceptable- and sexy- to be a curvy woman again.  hurrah!  why not flaunt it, you know?

I'm not a fan of jeans without back pockets.  I think they can look okay on really thin girls, but they aren't for me.
