Prom Dress
Permalink Closed

Hey,

So my prom is coming up in about a month (a little more than it) and I want to find a unique, NON-prom-cliche-dress (you know? Those glittery, hot pink dresses?)

One dress that I LOVE is:
960666_fpx.tif?wid=325&qlt=90,0&layer=comp&op_sharpen=0&resMode=bilin&op_usm=0.7,1.0,0.5,0&fmt=jpeg

Budget: definitely under $400.

It can be sleeveless or have sleeves.

Any suggestions?

I love, love, love that dress.  As far as I'm concerned, I vote for that one.

Is this your senior year?  I feel like I've been there for your whole HS experience, back on the luckymag boards till now!

That dress is amazing. I'd totally get it if I was going to prom. Haha.

I love BCBG dresses!  I went to their site and they are having free shipping right now with the code 20DAYS.   The dress you like is the same price as at Bloomingdales, but you can save some money on shipping this way.

I found these at Nordstrom

$290

No, this is my Junior Prom. :)

How weird, but I've bookmarked all of those dresses!

Recently, (or actually a year ago), I heard about Marc Bouwer GlamIt! and am in love with some of his older dresses.
Like this one:

Is that too much of a standard Prom dress? You know, the flashy, trashy dresses?

I just searched for like 35 mins.. nothing comes close! Not really sure of what budget you're on but if I were you I'd look for a special coupon and order the exact one you picked, its so gorgeous and different!

Perhaps you can find a discount code or something?

How about this Lilly Pulitzer dress? !BOcUK2QCGk~$(KGrHgoH-EYEjlLly8E)BJusqubT!w~~_1.JPG1429_1.JPG1d4c_1.JPG

Do you all think that would be considered a Prom dress?

The Lily one looks a little too casual to me because the material seems to be cotton.

I love the first dress you posted and the ones Boots posted!

Another vote for the first dress. If you're planning to go to college, there will be plenty of formals (opportunities to wear it again)! That dress is perfect.

If you can afford the first one and you love it, then I'd say go for it. It's totally original and I doubt anyone else at your prom would have it.

That said, I actually don't think it's a dress you'll wear often again. You may wear it once or twice, but by the time you get to college, you may find that your tastes (or your body) have changed and it no longer works for you.

I also love the first dress that Boots posted and the first yellow dress that Collette posted. I don't think you could go wrong with either. In my opinion, the Lily dress is too casual for prom.

I also think you could get a lot of wear out of it by trimming it to knee or tealength perhaps to wear to weddings or events in years to come. You could still keep the beautiful pattern too. Just trying to justify the price!!!

Hahahaha. Yea me too, Xtina.

I was thinking that since Macy's is having the Friends and Family discount soon, it may help me justify the price even more.
