I got this skirt, actually both of these pieces at Forever 21. I guess my mom felt bad that I hadn't really bought myself any clothes in nearly a year and half so she insisted that I find a shirt to accompany the skirt. This is all I could find. Now, I have a couple of questions. Does it look ok with the skirt? The first picture has the ties, but I'm thinking it's too much bow (with the skirt bow too)? The second picture, I threw the strings over my shoulder. Does the shirt work or no? If not, what kind of shirt would work? Question #2, I need shoes. I was thinking an espadrille? Ugh, I feel so unstylish and out of the loop. Please help me.

Don't mind the foot, I don't know what was going on with it.

I love that skirt. I like it with out the ties the best. Try to  find one with the same shape and the v-neck minus the ties. I will come back to post some shoes...I need to do the shred ...lol

very cute skirt!  you look adorable!  i like the top with the ties out of the way (2nd pic) better.  i think the top works but you might be able to find one that looks even better.  i'm sure someone will be able to suggest something that looks a little more streamlined with the skirt; my mind is drawing a blank right now, but maybe a beater or a fitted white tee.  you could add a fun necklace for interest.

as far as shoes, i would go with a neutral espadrille or tan pump (even a neutral patent leather would be cute).  when i have more time, i'll come back and look around for you!

oh also, have you seen the tan BR pumps that were posted here recently (can't remember who and no time to check)?  those would look cute with it.

That skirt is so cute and looks adorable on you! I definitely like it better without the ties. I think it would also look great with a crisp white button down.

I like it untied too.  The top definitely makes the tatas look HUGE
you could wear a tee with the skirt too. espadrilles would work, as would flats.  I like the idea of a white top and black flats with it...

Thanks everyone! I hadn't even thought of black flats, might have to try that.

And D, unfortunately it's not just that top, my tatas are just huge, lmao!

Love the skirt! I'm kind of seeing it with some navy too, maybe a navy top or cardigan.

Like everyone else, I like the 2nd look better. The untied top makes it into a v-neck which opens you up more. I'll look around and see if I can find any other options for you. It's a really cute skirt and looks great on you.

Just adding to the chorus - the skirt is delightful, the top is not flattering. I would balance it with a more tailored top - love Collette's idea of a white button-front shirt (I'm seeing turquoise jewelry, bag, or shoes with that) or a simple tee in a bright color.

Love the skirt on you!  I agree that the two ties looks too much and it looks best without the ties. Like the idea of a button down with fitted short sleeves. Also love Suasorias idea of turqoise jewelry or accessories.

Thank you so much everyone - for the advice and the compliments! Boots, I love that white shirt that you posted, and Suasoria, I love the turquoise idea! Looks like I have some shopping to do this weekend!
