What did you guys think?

I wasn't that into last night's episode and I missed part of the preview for next week but it seems like things might be improving. As much as I don't want Kirsten to cheat on Sandy, I was kind of annoyed when it seemed like they were dropping that as a plot possibility. And the Caleb-JuJu thing could be interesting! I was hoping they would do something with that because when Caleb was "comforting" Julie after the magazine launch debacle I was getting an evil vibe from him.

I still really love Summer!

I thought this episode was better than they have been.  I felt like they were starting to get back to the original OC vibe.  I will watch anyway no matter how cheesy some of the episodes were. 


I was confused by the Kirsten thing.  They have never really showed that she had interest in him until last night when she seemed upset by everything.  That confused me some.


I love JuJu and I am so happy she is back!!

I agree that they seem to be trying to get back to what the show was like when it started. It's kind of pathetic I suppose - can't the writers come up with anything better than having the Cohens take in another kid from the wrong side of the tracks who gets into fights and trouble with the law?! But yeah, I'll keep watching.

Did you miss some episodes? It's been pretty obvious that Kirsten was into that guy. She flirted with him, had dinner and drinks with him, "misplaced" her wedding ring, went looking for him at his apartment when he didn't show up for a meeting, seemed uncomfortable about having Sandy meet him, etc.
And then Julie picked up on it and started teasing her. So something has been brewing but for some reason I thought they were just going to drop that and have Billy Campbell become buddies with Sandy and act as a replacement for Jimmy Cooper.

While I don't agree that Sandy is a babe, Kirsten is totally pissing me off.  Remember how pissed off she got at Sandy when he was helping out his old girlfriend and spending all that time w/her?  Well now she's doing the same thing to him!  My mouth dropped to the floor when they showed the preview for next week and Billy Campbell asked her "do you want to take a shower".  Do you guys think she'll really cheat on Sandy?  I'm guessing no.


While i do think this season is not nearly as great as last season, it is getting a little better.


By the way - what do you guys think is up w/Ryan's brother taking the blame for giving that girl Ectasy?

Kiki is messed up...everytime the subject of Carter comes up, she's gets all weird and goofy and mock-non-chalant.  she definitely has a crush.  i really don't want her to cheat on Sandy, but at the same time, this show needs some serious drama, not expected drama that loses steam and fizzles out (hello, lesbian relationship, JuJu not shooting Lance, etc.).  anyone else notice how *short* Peter Gallagher looks next to Billy Campbell?  I never thought he was that short?!?!?  Kiki should stand by her man...I used to think Billy Campbell was a cutie, but he's not aging so well (either that, or bad makeup), Peter Gallagher on the other hand...like a fine wine...  And I love how he's always like, "I'm responsible for all these kids"...okay, enough Sandy love for now.


God, Seth is an idiot.  The things he does sometimes, geez...Zach has a "gay vibe?"  He takes it over the edge.  But, watching Kirsten try to talk that surfer doctor girl out of pursuing Carter, one can kind of see where he gets...


And what is with Ryan and his "cannot forgive" thing?  He really has a hard time forgiving people for anything.  I mean, okay, I can kind of see where that might come from, but you just feel sorry for the other people.  He's such a hardass with them.  You could just tell his brother was hurt that he came to beat him up instead of tell him happy birthday.  And yet Ryan just can't let it go.  Just like the 18 episodes last year where he couldn't forgive Marissa for the Oliver Debacle.


I too still love Summer.  I just wish they'd give her something more interesting to do again.

oh yes, forgot to mention that...i think he's just taking the fall to save Marissa from being arrested.  the classic Atwood do-the-right-thing chivalry.  but as an aside, Marissa's parents weren't home, so they had to arrest HER?  wtf?  she's not actually the owner of the house, she's a minor...that was weird.


oh also, i know they're trying to create a tension between ryan and marissa with their almost-kiss every episode, but i don't even care.  they have no chemistry and they really should not have them get back together.  blah.  what's wrong with them being friends?


oh oh, and also...i agree, i hope they really play up the Caleb being evil thing, i'm ready for some real drama!  but do you think JuJu is going to have Lance try to kill him????  i hope they don't kill Caleb off though, he's cool.

First I love summer, but she look bad @ the party, I did not like what she was wearning. And what the hell? Why was Seth being such a jerk to her. Ryan is just annoying. I think Marissa should hook up with his brother. I think Kiki is stupid. But I don't think she is going to cheat. And Julie she is the best. I hated her character last year, this year i think she is great. Also Ryan's brother is just taking the fall, I don't think he did anything wrong.


 Lucky~ Marissa threw a party it got a little crazy. Right when Ryan and Marissa were about to kiss they heard a scream. A girl was in the water, face down. She OD on ectasy. But she didn't die, I don't think. THe cops ask who the owner of the house was. Marissa said that she lives there but her parents weren't home. They were going to arrest her until they found out who brought the ectasy in the house. THen Trey took the blame and they arrested him.

Thanks, kel.  The party was just getting crazy when I had to leave and I KNEW something bad was going to happen!


I think Trey loves Marissa, why can't the hook up?

wow, i can't believe i'm saying this, but i actually feel genuine chemistry between marisa and trey (the guy who plays trey must be a brilliant actor if he can produce anything beyond mischa's normally wooden non-reactions).  i want them to hook up...drama!  although i must admit that when ryan and marisa almost kissed, i inexplicably started yelling, "kiss, kiss!" at my tv.  very weird considering that i think they are the worst. couple. ever.  (thanks, summer!)


i've gotta say it- what is UP with zack's hair??  he looks like freakin farrah fawcett with all that feathering!

I have to laugh sfcaligirl because I too was screaming at Marissa and Ryan to kiss but I hate them as a couple!!  I think it's because every time they are together they almost kiss and get interuppted - it's getting annoying at how much they are dragging it out! 


I totally hope Trey and Marissa hook up.  By the way - did anyone else find that whole scene w/Trey and the girl who OD'd very cheesy and weird?  I mean, who just goes up to a guy at a party and pulls him into a bedroom and kisses him?  It was so weird!

there's definitely more to the story with trey and the skanky girl than we saw last night--the fact that he comes out from the shadows and takes the hit for marissa about the drugs signals to me that something else happened between him and that girl than what they want us to think happened.  my guess is that her behavior creeped him out and he told her to hit the road and went back to the party, and hadn't seen her in a while until the police turned up.  it kind of looked like he had no idea what had been going on with the drowning and everything when he popped back up in the scene with the police, didn't it?
