I'm pretty much on one! I just bought some sandals but I live in Florida so that's pretty much a necessity.

I'm moving out of state soon and that gets expensive!

You can tell by how often I post in the weekly shopping threads what kind of spender I am...not...though I have no exciting goal in mind, other than a retirement villa somewhere outside Mazatlan!

I'm on one, more or less.  I'm going to Paris in 2 weeks, so I want to shop there :D  Then I move in 2 months and will want home stuff.  Also trying to lose a tiny bit of weight.  So I'll probably start shopping a bit during the summer sales.

I'm on a ban of sorts now too - after a few expensive furniture purchases and home projects, I'd really like to get our savings stocked back up.  I'm only allowing myself to thrift - no new shopping, unless it's something I've needed forever and it's ridiculously cheap.

I've been following a blogger who has been on a "shopping ban" for the past 6 months or something like that. But what she did is allow herself $10/week. She could use it to save up for something, but most often she went thrifting with it and usually got quite a lot for her $10. Maybe giving yourself a very small allowance would work better than going cold turkey?

I've decided to take my debt card out of my wallet, and I never carry checks. I'll keep $20 a week in my wallet and make it count. I stay home except running the kids around to programs and school, and we're all set up for the summer things. So I'm starting a 90 day goal, starting 4/2, basically right now ;)

Count me in!
I never realized how hard it would be having to worry about car payments. I have to start saving my money wisely again so I think I will put myself on a shopping ban for a month (I was gonna say 2 but i can't do it lol)

Ditto. I was at J.Crew the other day with an armfull of clothes at the register, and I just walked away and put everything back. I'm an impulse buyer, so it's been really hard... but it's so much better for my closet and my wallet to only buy things that I cannot live without.

I think I'll be joining you. I cannot stop shopping and I really need to. I need to sit down and think about what I really need and make a list before running out and buying a lot of junk that isn't fitting the list.

So I think for the next month, I think I'm going to take all but one card out of my wallet and then make wishlists and save photos instead of shopping online and see where I can get.

I'll third this. With hubby being out of work for the time being, I've really been prioritizing my purchases and only buying my true "must haves." It's been working well in all respects -- instead of getting 10 things, I'll narrow it down to 5 that I love the most.

I always read this blog. It's very feel-good. She talks a lot about fashion and how it relates to body image.

I should be on. I've been spending money like I actually have it.
