I hope I don’t turn this post into a vent- maybe I should post it in the dating & relationships.

I need to find an outfit to wear to a major league soccer game in about two weeks. I normally just wear jeans, pumas and a tee, but I have to dress up a little more because this girl that works with my boyfriend will be there. She has been trying to hook up w/ him for about two years (AHHH I HATE HER, she is such a bad bad person!) and I want to look hot. I don’t want to look like I tried too hard, but still look good. I would love to go in a sexy dress and stilettos, but I would look soooo out of place.

We will be sitting in the luxury box, but we also sit in the stands for a while- depends on the weather. It will probably be in the high 60’s, so I want to be able to stay warm incase it gets cold. I have a few ideas of what I am going to wear, but nothing that I am set on.

I don’t really have price range, so go crazy and make me look hot! Thanks!

Update
This is what I am thinking I will go w/. I need to find a coat/jacket and accesories to make it a more unique and not so plain. I have a few vintage ties that were my Papa's and there are some crazy colors so maybe I will wear that as a belt. I am not really set on the shoes w/ this outfit, but I do really like them. I figure I need to wear something I am comfortable in, so then I will be conident and not blow up on this girl.

I thought this shirt would be funny, because this girl is far from a lady and a long tank underneath- don't know color yet.

oh yeah - and argyle thigh highs - that oughtta keep ya warm! the biking gloves are an essential touch too...


do you think you want to wear jeans? and are you opposed to wearing heels (I'm thinking wedges that would be comfy and mostly covered by your jeans) to a sporting event?

I like the tee/shrug/jeans suggestion as well.  What type of jeans were you thinking of doing?  If you have a deconstructed pair, they might lend themselves well to the 'not trying too hard' vibe.

I think instead of looking sexy you should look like the pretty/down home wonderful g/f. The really pretty one who doesn't look like she tries. The other girl will be really jealous. Because the other girl will probably wear something revealing and you do not want to compete.  I don't even know If that made any sense?

I'm with Kel.  I think you should just look cute and freshfaced, espec. for a soccer game.  I saw a girl at an outdoor festival wearing medium wash jeans (maybe Citizens?) and a pale yellow Grateful Dead Trunk tee in this print and she looked so hot (pardon the little girl pic).  She just had square diamond studs in her ear and very natural makeup with a slight flush to her cheek. I would wear a soft shirt and jeans, with flip flops.  I also like this splendid short sleeve hoodie.  I would go with your favorite "natural girl" look, or the casual outfit your boyfriend compliments the most.  I wouldn't try to overdo it with nice, expensive things- when it comes down to it, you already have what she wants and you have no reason to prove yourself to her.

That totally makes sense. I keep playing this little scenerio in my head where I show up and she will tell me how pretty I look- because she ALWAYS does and then I will say "Oh, this old thing? I just threw something on- I was in a little bit of a hurry."
She will definatley be in something revealing. She dresses like she works at a club in the early 90s. One day she wore turquoise snakeskin pants to work- my boyfriend took a picture w/ his camera phone to show me. There is a joke my bf office where they bet how many times in a week she will have a nipple slip.

I was thinking jeans, but that is just because I usually wear jeans, but it is not a must. I not opposed to wearing heels either. I don't think I would be too out of place, because we will probably be sitting w/ coaches and players wives and some of them get pretty dresses up. I just don't want to look like I tried to hard.

You have a real vintage tee like that?  Lucky (napoleon voice)!  I think both outfits are cute.  I like the lady tee- I'm surprised its from Abercrombie.  I think that is better if you want to look girlier, and the vintage tee is better if you want to look cool and comfortable.

even if you just wear that tee and jeans, I think you need the proper foundations.

you should seriously consider wearing heels with your jeans.  heels will make your legs look longer and will give a lift to your but - subtle but effective.  a wedge would be comfy, so would high heeled boots.  Personally, I would wear really long jeans and pointy toe high heel boots to kind of play up the effect and make the heels less obvious.

a good padded underwire push up bra (wacoal bras are great).  make the most out of those puppies.

good posture. nothing is sexier or gives the air of confidence better than good posture.


if you do all 3 of these things, it doesn't matter if you wear a tank and tee - I guarantee you  will outshine any hooch.  believe me it is tried, tested and true.

I am really considering heels, but I am such a mess in them. I wear heels about once a year- maybe two, so I am just not comfy in them. I look like a baby giraffe that just learned to walk. I am going to walking up and down stairs and I don’t want to fall.

wedges are much easier to walk in... you could try some shoes on and try walking around in the store with them to see if you can handle it.  even pointy kitten heels would be better than flats. (and we DO NOT want you falling down the stairs! that would NOT help your image )


- so now I'm thinking cowboy boots - casual with a bit of a heel, comfortable and sexy with long jeans.
