Anthropologie/Tracy Reese Bungalow Dress Review

To start, I had to order the dress from a store because online was sold out. They messed up the order the first time so it took two weeks to get here. I ordered the dress in a size 2, and when it arrived  I couldn't even get it to zip up in the back.

I drove two hours to the closest Anthropologie where they didn't have the dress, so I returned the 2 and had them track me down a size 4.

I just got the 4, and while it zips up in the back, I can't take a deep breath. It has a boned bodice, and I think that is part of the problem. Also, the dress has an inside snap with a buckle, and the 4 they sent me is missing the buckle, so the straps hand down inside the dress.disbelief

I might be over this dress between the mix ups and the weird sizing. I think how much it costs is a hang up for me too. For the same price I can buy another dress I want, a blouse, and most of a scarfwink

Has anyone else had a chance to try this on?

Haven't had a chance to try it on, but I've been drooling over it since I saw it in the March catalog.  I can't believe at that price it's selling out.

I love that dress and Tracy Reese is one of my favorite designers. I haven't tried it on, but your experience makes me scared to try it.

Beautiful dress. Her stuff does run small.

YOU GUYS ARE NOT HELPING. I tried it on for my husband, I respect his opinion and was confident he would say take it back. I told him, "This was almost $300, I paid full price!" He tells me I look adorable. *bangs head* I guess I wanted to be talked out of it lol.

Shopchicago, it looks like they restocked it in every size but 4 online. I'm going to call my closest store again and see if they got it in yet and try the 6.

*I just realized I didn't describe how it looked, just the fit. The dress is exactly how it is pictured and runs on the shorter side. Nice thick fabric and I love that it has pockets.

Can you post a pic IRL? (although I have a feeling we'd all tell you how cute it looks!!)

Hopefully the 6 will work out well.

Cute!   I feel like the current attitude towards spending right now is that it's charity to keep America from failing and everyone losing their jobs.  :)  So I think it's okay that it's full price as long as you can afford it.

Thanks so much for posting this!! I also was seriously considering this dress for a summer wedding I am going to. I absolutely love it. It sounds like I may need a 4 as well. Maybe I will try to see if it is in store, I hate having to return things I bought online!
