a very, very, long day.

this morning, I found out that the house I wanted was sold before we were able to put in an offer this week.  then after that, I had four back to back interviews (4 hours) for a very senior-level job at a huge agency for a super-huge account.

I'm officially brain-dead.  I'm going to go get out of this suit and put on some comfies.

I am so sorry you didn't get the house you wanted! I hope something else comes along that you like even better!

Best of luck with the interviews!

That really sucks about the house. Is the deal done or are they still in escrow?

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you about the job. Let us know what happens! smile.gif

Aww man. Sorry you didn't have better news today. I'm hoping the job comes through though and then you can start looking for an even better house. You never know this sale might fall through or they might need to sell when you are finally ready to buy.

The interview sounds promising! They wouldn't give you so much of their time if they weren't serious.

Maybe they'd take a backup offer on the house? Maybe the buyers' financing will fall through? Maybe it won't pass inspection or appraisal? Maybe it's infested with toxic mold? (Okay, in that case, you probably won't want it either.)

Was that the house you had on facebook that's "keeping you up at night?" I thought that was a vacation destination or something!

I guess I've missed out on something. I didn't know you were interviewing, but GOOD LUCK!!!!

Thanks for the sympathy hmm

Those interviews nearly killed me - by the time I got to the last guy, I started stumbling and freezing up.  didn't help that he had non-existent body language, so I had no idea if he was picking up what I was putting down so I started to ramble on waiting for some nod or word or something.  I actually froze up at one point.  I eventually learned to just say my answer and shut up then stare back. Once I told him I had designed wire frames and had on-hands knowledge in web design, he shifted gears.  This gentleman was Indian as well, and my husband later described how their body language is different and how he has had to adapt in his business dealings - wish I had spoken to him about this ahead of time. oh well.  the first three interviews went really well in my opinion, so hopefully they will outweigh the stumbling that took place in the last one.  I would really love to have this job.  It's a perfect fit for me, in my opinion.  Good money too.  Considering Michigan's current employment climate, I would be one lucky girl if I got it.

The house.  Yeah, apparently they already closed on it.  My realtor said there were no records of this that he could find prior to contacting the other realtor.  I'm a bit bummed, but I am of the state of mind that something even better will come along.  I need to put together a list of what we're looking for our realtor so he can keep his eyes peeled. I did spot a couple more I liked online, so we'll see.  The location of the house we wanted was funky with office buildings around it anyway.

Hopefully one of the online houses will be even better in person! That sucks about your last interview - any interview is nerve-wracking but without even getting physical cues along the way, I would have been sweating bullets! It sounds like you made it through OK and I agree with Suasoria - they spent so much time on you because you're something special.
