I found this at a thift store, I kinda like it  but Iam sure about a denim dress. What do you think?  This is not the idea belt  but  I used  it to see if it looks better with a belt.
If i keep it what shoes  would look best?

I like it better with the belt, definitely. But, otherwise, I'm not quite sure how I feel about it.

I'm definitely on the fence on this one, I think you just need to be very careful in styling it.

Me too.  It looks really cute on you but I think the style is kind of dated.

I agree.  I think it looks cute on you belted but this is one that could easily look dated.

Ditto - looks kinda like a uniform in a way.  Def cuter with the red belt.

I would try wearing some funky platforms to "modernize" and maybe a great bag.  For $2 it cant hurt!

Or if you're crafty cut the top off and use the skirt only.

I think I would like it better with an even wider belt - like, in the same place that red belt is now, but on top of the loops (so you don't even know the loops are there) and wider.

I think it would look better with a wider belt kelly said. Maybe if you unbutton the top button so that it shows a cami underneath and wear a chunky necklace

Definitely add a belt (a wider one) and chunky platform shoes to update it

play around with it still, dont give up on it yet.

like mentioned, use a thicker belt, you might even have to cut off the belt hooks to make it less bulky. Post pic's and we will let you know wink.gif

I think you can try and do something with it.....

I agree on the wider belt. The length of the sleeves bothers me, can you roll them up just above the elbows or something? Also I agree with unbuttoning that top button.

It has cute potential for sure!

I've been seeing a lot of denim overalls jumpers and rompers. Even a dress like yours but more flared. I acres a wider belt looks good the red looks great and you have the figure. It's a very classic shape- very BR or JCrew. Great deal! Oh and I like the rolled cuffs and some wedges to go with :)

Kitty I like that idea, I was thinking about a scarf last night, but around the neck!

I think it looks cute on you, and for me, I think it looks kind of classic since I don't really ever remember a denim dress trend (maybe in the 80's? aren't the 80's back in? smile

I would not cut off the belt loops, but would wear a wide belt through the belt loops.

I'm with kitty - a scarf as a belt, and I'd also add some colorful flats.

look for long skinny scarves at marshalls, tjs, or thrift.

I think the solid flats would look good with a patterned scarf, and the patterned flats would look good with a solid color scarf (I really like the patterned flats, and they would look cute with a solid color wide belt as well)
