Big, blank walls -- and I am clueless
Permalink Closed

So I just moved into a new apartment, which has plenty of white walls that we are not allowed to paint. This one wall in my living room (which has our TV on its stand in front of it) is bothering me in particular. I am really clueless about decorating and art arrangements, but this big wall is desperate for something! (The wall is about 12 feet wide and about 9 feet high.)

Can you guys please help me figure out what kind of art arrangement to put on this wall? ie, how many pictures does it need? What sizes should they be? I like wood frames -- should they all be the same color?

Here are some things to keep in mind:

-I don't want anything too dramatic, such as a painted mural that uses the whole wall as its canvas. My living room is pretty traditional-looking......
-My coffee table is mahogany stained, and so is a big mirror on an adjacent wall
-My couch is cream colored
-The room has a hardwood floor with a large area rug that covers almost all of it. The rug is a tan color with accent colors in burgundy, sage green, and chocolate brown
-I tried hanging a painting on the wall which had a lot of blue in it, but it looked really "off" with the color scheme from the rest of the room....so I was thinking a big black and white framed photo would look good?

I like the picture below, but my boyfriend is concerned that it will look funny by itself on the wall, so I don't know what to do! Please help!
