Is there anything I can do or should

I just stay out of it?

I was approached by a supervisor in our department today.  She wanted to know if I knew of anyone from my old department who would be good for a position she had open.  I knew of someone perfect and wrote up a glowing recommendation to the supervisor and talked with the girl I wanted to recommend who was super-interested in the position.  I know this girl does a really good job and in addition to working with her, I have taken a graduate course with her, so I know she is even over-qualified for the position (but it would be the next step in her career).  So, the supervisor told me to have her send her resume directly to her.

So, she sent the resume and copied me on the e-mail.  The problem is her resume definitely doesn't highlight her qualifications.  She did more of a list of job duties than a show of accomplishments.  She is selling herself short with her resume.  I feel really bad now.  Hopefully the supervisor will interview her anyway and fidn out in person that she would do a great job.

Should I say something or have I really done all I could? It's too late for her to redo her resume anyway now that she already sent it, right?

Well you probably can't say anything else right now but you may want to offer to help this girl rewrite her resume if she doesn't get interviewed (or even if she does and gets the position) so that she can be ready for the next job that she may want.

she might always say she send a draft of her resume by mistake, and send the good one, but that would mean that you have to help her write a new resume.

May be you can give her some hints, like saying that she should highlight her accomplishments, or something like that, very delicately. But don't feel guilty fi you don't think like doing anything.

I think you did everything you could, and it should be up to the girl to sell herself on the interview.  That was very nice of you to do, btw.
