Are white jeans for me?
Permalink Closed

I see a lot of white denim for spring, but I have always been under the impression that white bottoms make me look huge, so unless you are a skinny mini, will you guys be partaking in this trend? I try to stick to things that are flattering but white denim seems to go with everything and it's perfect for summer.

i live in them in the summer.  they are seriously the one item that i buy every year and replace as soon as they wear out or get dingy.  i'm by no means a skinny-mini, but i tend to carry all my weight in the upper half of my body and have skinny legs, which is not the norm.  so i don't know if that helps or not, but i definitely think they are a great basic that goes with everything.

I shudder at the thought of white jeans, but I am definately on the lookout for a pair of white dress pants. I actually tried some on in H and M the other day and with the right shirt the were surprisingly slimming (I pair them with a seafoam tunic top and looked like I instantly lost about 15 pounds)!

I am starting the to think they can be very flattering as long as you stick woth a longer shirt that covers at least the top of your bum.

White pants are so cute and there are so many cute summer tops that go perfectly with white pants or jeans.  I personally don't wear them because I have a phobia.  There's just so much that can go wrong (VPL even if it didn't look you had it when you checked in your home mirror, embarassing stains, seethroughness).

I say "No!" to white Denim. I really don't like it at all.

I like white pants that are a different material- I have a few that are thicker linen from the Gap that I love. I also have some cotton beachy white pants too.

I really wanted a pair... they're very Jackie O in Greece. But, they looked bad on me so now I just admire them on other people. My advice, go to Gap. I tried on 3 different styles all in white. They are all cheap and you don't have to buy them, just see what you look like in white denim.

this was my goal all last summer.  i might do it again this summer, because i am not feeling the "nautical" thing (overdosed on it as a child) and i am already tired of most boho stuff because it is EVERYWHERE these days.

I love white jeans for summer, but I do agree that not everyone can pull them off.  As the other ladies said, I would go try on some different brands and styles to see if you can find one that works for you.

I love the look of white denim, like SFC said very Jackie O. If done right I think they can be fantastic on someone. I agree that not everyone can wear them and I fall into that category...:(
I also think that a stiffer denim, not a stretch looks better also.

Seethroughness has been enemy #1 for many years.  I have had to pass on many a white bathing suit and pair of white capris in my day.  Last summer I did manage to track some not too-see-through denim capris down though.  Mine are from Gap.  As long as they are good sturdy denim, I think almost anyone can wear them.

I love white denim.  I still have a pair of nautical white denim pants I got from Esprit a million years ago, before it disappeared and came back!  I didn't realize how many people out there were shaking their heads in disgust everytime I wore white jeans.  I'm like the lady in her moo-moo who has no clue even as she hears whispers behind her... haha ;) kidding.

Last weekend I bought True Religion's Twisted Flare Joey in white:

I think they're hot and casual at the same time.  For going out, I plan to buy these sevens in mid-May if my size ever comes back in stock:

I also echo the priorly given advice to try on many different pairs and brands.  I'm very picky when it comes to white denim.   It's very easy for it to look cheap and skintight white denim is a really bad idea.
