Hmm I think I'd be wary. Was there a full job description? Name and number to contact?

I think this is becoming more common- for better or worse.  Even though it's based on superficial things, you can generally tell the "vibe" of someone from an online profile.  With so many people applying for positions, maybe it's a way to further screen people.  My friend posted a listing and received 1500 responses in one day.  So....

Sounds sketchy to me and I would never share a social networking profile with a stranger.

Sketchy!!!!

If they really wanted to look you up on facebook, she could use google to find your profile. This person just wanted to collect pics.

I wouldn't share your profile even if this person is legit. Potential employers could get a lot of information from it that would otherwise be illegal to ask in an interview.

I'm glad all the previous posters have given this advice, because my response would have been "sure, why not" - since I take as a given that anything I'd put online with my name on it would be publicly visible to strangers, potential employers, etc.

It is typical for hiring managers to look up candidates on various sites anyway.

honestly craigslist is so full of fake ads and fake jobs in an effort to collect information about people I would NOT be giving this information out.

I agree with the others that this doesn't sound legit and I would just pass on it. Plus the bad grammar, spelling, and use of lower case in the reply to you isn't very professional either and I would run from a place that gave off an unprofessional vibe like that.

Agreed.  What was the job for?

unless its for a promotions type job where it would make sense that they want to see what you look like or whatever before they waste time talking to you, no way! collecting names? what on earth is that even supposed to mean?

Definitely a scam. I posted my resume on craigslist (without identifying details such as phone, name and company names) and I've received some whackadoo responses. I actually got a response from someone that had no job description, company name or any other info, but they requested I send them my resume. Hello! You just read it! The only thing more they could possibly want is my specific information and if they weren't giving me specifics, I wasn't about to give them specifics.

There are definitely legit opportunities on craigslist, but there's a lot of scamming going on, too.
