I too am wondering how this works. I've always been curious and would love a great savings account. I'm a freshman in college, but I'd love to be able to put a little aside at a time and have some moola when I graduate.

no, it's great, b/c you don't have minimum balance, you can decide to deposit automatically from your checking account at fixed times, or you can deposit evey time as much as you want. Also, you can withdraw as much as you want whenever and re-deposit the money on your checking acct (it takes about 2 days to show up on your checking account tho).

I really love ING (I don't work for them, don't worry! )

No catch, no minimum balance. It is far and away the best savings account out there. I can send you a referral link and you will get $25 just for signing up if you like. PM me with your email address if you would like me to send it to you.

Whoo Hoo! i love ING and the surprise increase in the %! It always makes my day (yes I'm that much of a dork). It must have just happened because I haven't gotten the little email from them yet.

I have referrals left too if Farrah runs out

of hers. Oh when you pm someone your email address you also have to give your real name - first and last for the referral to work for you. Thought I'd save some of yall the trouble.

Wow! I got an e-mail a few weeks back saying it went up to 2.8%, but I didn't know this! I also didn't receive the e-mail, Crystal. When I started, it was 2% and I have seen it go up several times already. I have 3 accounts there. I love ING!

Not only is the interest rate awesome but I love that the money feels socked away. Once I transfer it in I never withdraw. Its a good mental game to keep me from spending my potential house downpayent on shoes.

I have been planning on opening an ING acct for months. Now that I have the time to do it, however, I have NO MONEY! This may be a dumb quesiton, but can I open an account without putting any money in it? If so, will I get $25 to start and then 3% interest on that?? I should have money later, I'm just low right now b/c hubby and I've been shopping a lot lately adn are tying to mellow out a little on spending. Anyway, if this is the case I want to sign up now under someone--I don't care who it is. I guess to be fair I'll go with the first person that answers my post. Thanks, girls!

I think you can do it with $1 even. They say there aren't any minimums but I think you have to at least but something in it and keep that money in there for 30 days before you can get the $25 gift.

Thanks Joina! The maximum referrals is 25... so ideally u can get $250 from referrals!! The only problem is that sometimes u send one & the person doesn't sign up. You can always bump them for someone else, but I'm far from that problem, I have almost all of mine available still!! When I'm out w/ friends and we are on the topic I'll mention ING & ask if they want a referral (who can refuse $25!!), but most people don't follow thru & sign up.

Thank you to those who have PM'd me for referrals (and those who have already signed up!).... the money I get is going directly to debt!!

ETA: alb, i want to be greedy & say sign up under me, but i won't... sign up under farrah as she was the next one after me to ask for ppl to sign up under her.... and don't worry girls, if i ever fill up on my 25 i'll let u know so u can ask for referrals from others!!
