i'll start one.  just bought these dresses:

nanette lepore "playgirl dress" in navy (for my son's baptism).  what color shoes and clutch should i wear?  i'm thinking about a merlot colored patent leather pump i saw at dsw recently (by cole haan or calvin klein, can't recall).  not sure about the clutch though and don't want to be too matchy.

also, had to have this:

theory "ardi" dress on sale at bloomies for half price (157.50) - although they didn't have my size so i had to get it from the nyc b& m store.  i'm a bit nervous about the fit, b/c i ordered a 4 but tried on a 6 in the store which had slightly too much fabric around the waist (and theory seems to run small imo).

thanks!  i will - and maybe before i wear them so i can get advice on shoes, etc.  i'm kind of stumped on the navy dress right now and can only think of patent charcoal or a merlot-ey color.  any ideas welcome!

I will, it was sold out of my store and they never got replenishment so I'm hoping I ordered the right size.


I think burgandy/wine color sounds perfect with the navy dress. I think you could do a nude heel with that too.

I was going to recommend nude heels with the navy as well or you could even go with pink or yellow depending on the event and your mood.

I've been shopping not working this week (bad!).

I bought this today:
NMB0RMQ_mt.jpg Neiman Marcus, Vera Wang Lavendar Label for $158.  Can't complain.

I also bought an orange dress from Gilt the other day and then a gray dress with lace overlay on the bottom.  Forget the brands but I'll post photos if they fit.

Thanks, Claudia and Aurora.  generally i'm not a huge fan of nude shoes, but i'll be on the lookout.  also, i have some satin pointy slingbacks in a champagne/nude color that may have to do if i can't find any others i like.  

oh and i love that dress, aurora!

aurora - yeah i looked at some silver shoes today - thanks!  oh, what do you think about grey suede peeptoes with that dress?  i saw some today at nine west, but i don't know b/c it's sort of freezing outside right now!
