Well I've been gone for a long, long time (I'm not sure if anyone would even remember me). I've lurked on and off since I've stopped posting, but not anymore... I'm back! I don't really have a reason for leaving; I guess I just figured that I wouldn't be missed. I wasn't a big contributer or anything. Every time I came back I'd want to post but not really have anything to say, so I didn't... and every time I came back I felt more disconnected. The thought of not having it around makes me really sad. I'm glad to be back, but I'm sorry that your posting this, D, is what it took for me to get here. I've missed all the old girls and look forward to getting to know everyone else!

Oh no! Don't shut down! I am wayyy late to post on this thread, which humbly is um, a good indicator that I am not posting enough. I have my reasons, all personal family issues drama and limited budget and well actually, I think the biggest factor is social networking sites...FB and the ton of people I have reconnected with lately has been sucking up my internet time that used to go straight to ST. I DON'T go to other forums, I barely make time to read a few fashion blogs.

Even though I don't post about fashion as much, I have learned so much from this community. I can't believe that it was about 2003 when I used to post on that Lucky forum! I feel attached to my friends here, it would really really suck if ST shuts down.

Soooo.... I am going to go do some posting. Now.

Love you ladies!

Well, I know I don't go to other forums to discuss anything. I really have been focused on my home and such lately, I haven't felt I have had the creds to comment on anything much. I love this site, and I can't imagine it being shut down. Those other fashion sites seem too snooty and uptight, IMO. This one is just right with a good mix of everyone.

Hmm.. I don't know what to say really. I enjoy the forum and visit every weekday but that in no way entitles me to say, "keep it open for me!"
As for posting, I will willingly put my hand in the air and call - guilty.

Tritto! LOL I LOVE coming here, this is my ALL TIME favorite fashion-related site. I admit, I don't post like I use to, but I am TRYING to get better. A LOT happened to me last year, and I don't have 'net at home anymore, so...... I post while I am work. SHHHH. Don't tell anyone. LOL I come here for more than just fashion advise, so if it went away, I'd be.... Lost.cry

haha - no, it's ME who has driven everybody away.  seriously, I feel like the more I post, the more mute it gets around here.

D,  It's been really nice to see you posting more.  When the posts were getting sparce, I too wondered where you were and thought maybe you were giving up on the forum.  We all have reasons in our lives where we don't have time to do the forum thing for a time, it just happens.

I feel the same as you and others I guess, I post sometimes and it doesn't seem like there is much response, so it feels like why bother.

I'm fashion obsessed whether I'm spending money or not, so I do regulary watch 5-6 other sites, some of which have a lot of traffic, but I enjoy this one the best because of the homey nice feel.  Maybe this conversation will spur people to post more again.

I do like all the forum options and I wouldn't condense it.  If people started posting more, they would get used more too.

I originally started posting here because I really valued everyone's fashion creativity. For example, if I found something I loved, I could post it and people would post tons of interesting ways to wear it, color ideas, etc... I also loved when someone posted an outfit challenge, so I could get fresh ideas.

I feel both those things are lacking now. I tried to post on those two topics several months ago and didn't get any response, so I kind of gave up. Instead I have some blogs bookmarked that I go to for new ideas.

On the other hand, I love checking in to see if anyone has found a great bargain or look at the weekly shopping thread.

This may not be what you want to hear, but just sharing what I feel.

I'm glad this site is coming alive again.  It feels great to see a bunch of activity on here again.  Thanks D for doing what you do.  I love my stylethread!

Well, I'm a little late jumping in on this discussion, but I'll still add my opinion.

I would be sad if ST shut down. I originally started posting on the Lucky forums, then FH and now here. I do keep track of a lot of you on social networking sites, but it's not the same as coming to the forum. This forum (and all of its contributors) has not only seen me through several fashion seasons, but through college, horrible jobs, bad relationships, career changes and hopefully soon a wedding (or possibly an elopement, but whatever). I remember so many of you when you started posting and it's so nice to see the paths our lives have taken.

This place is not just about fashion. It's about the relationships we've built over the years. I, too, get the strange looks from the bf when I say, "well, I'll just ask the girls on stylethread." He'll be perusing my Facebook friends and ask, "who's this? who's that?" And I'll tell him- those are some of my friends from stylethread.

I haven't posted as much because I truly have been busy with school, work, job hunting and my business. But I'll try to hop on here a little more often. I have no idea about the other forum previous posters frequent. The only forums I visit are ones where I have my business set up (and LOST forums, cause I'm a geek), but for me, nothing takes the place of stylethread.

I'm a newbie here. I came over from Domino when it was shutting down, solely because Suasoria mentioned Stylethread, and I love reading Suasoria's comments -- wry and witty. I enjoy Stylethread very much, although I am not as interested in the fashion and beauty as some -- I wish there was more activity in the home decor area, but once again, I wasn't posting there myself either! LOVE the relationship and other personal discussion areas -- I will try to make more of a contribution. I guess I feel that maybe my opinions and issues are a little out of date for some of you, as I am in my sixties.

On the contrary, I for one and always interested to hear opinions from people all shapes, sizes, colors and ages.  A lot of times it really helps put things in perspective.  And I like to be challenged to see the other point of view, not that it always changes my mind ;)

Now as far as fashion, I'm sure there are some things that different generations just won't agree on, like I'm certain you wouldn't be rocking a mini knit dress with leggings ;)  But that doesn't mean your insite and opinion aren't applicable.

Glad to have you around.  And I've been thinking (been in a decorating mood) of starting a decorating style (like threadstyle or kinda like ratemyspace) where we can post pics of our rooms, feel free, anyone, to start that.  I need to clean before I take any pics, hehe!

Thanks, FashionPrincess...I have to tell you that I AM rockin a knit tunic top with tights (kinda the same thing) hehehe...Not as awful as you may imagine. When I was in university, I used to model for extra money, and the figure has stayed pretty much the same ever since. I weigh five pounds more and have an extra inch around my waist. Oh well.

Maybe when I get some housecleaning done, I'll join you in the decor posts!

Awesome!!!  If you can work it, then you go girl!  I hope I'm in that good of shape when I'm that age!!!  Shoot, I'd like to be in model shape now!!!  LOL!  (and I hope you know that I wasn't implying that it shouldn't be worn by you... just the first example that popped into mind :) ).

And I'd love to see your home.

Hey Nightshade! I was hoping you were the same Nightshade as the other Nightshade. I can't remember if you ever sold the cottage you were working on.

FP, a deco thread style is an awesome idea.

I am late coming to this thread because (shocker) I'm one of those posters who doesn't post much anymore. Not sure if I count as an old-timer, because I came to ST when it was already ST, but I have been here for a while (though I spent most of my time as username "Poptart").

A few things contributed to my posting less, and some of them are potentially constructive, so I'll share them, since they are things others mentioned too. FWIW, I've never posted on another forum of any kind (shopping or other topic).

1. I also sometimes feel like there are too many categories for posts
2. I also have cut way back on shopping. I think I might read and post more if we there was more "inspiration" posting going on. I'll try to do my part here.

And last but not least, I will just say that about a year and a half (?) ago, I started to get bothered by some of the interactions on the forum. It wasn't a personal thing, but I remember in particular one really active poster who would post tons of stuff about her personal life and then get pissed about the advice she got in return. And though I wasn't involved (i.e., didn't post responses), I did feel like there was some self-censorship and some cliqueishness and drama that definitely weren't why I come to ST. So I think being able to be more forthright is a good thing.
