Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs, I know the second one is cheaper but what makes it cheaper?

I love that bag, very cool. I think the difference between them is Marc by Marc Jacobs is younger and geared towards teenagers and 20-30 yr olds, so the materials are cheaper I think, and it's more casual like t shirts wheras Marc Jacobs is higher-end and nicer fabrics. That's my guess anyway.
