Oh, god yes. That's completely true. I once went on a diatribe to a guy who was a graduate film student how I refused to call my favorite movies films because it put too much pressure on the films to be intellectual and me to have good taste, so I liked to call them movies. Seriously. I went on and on about that topic for about 10 minutes. He proceeded to tell me I seemed overly concerned with whether or not people thought I was intelligent.  The stupid things that come out of people's mouths are insane!
