I'm so sad, I don't know what to do

So we just found out that my FH's father is dying. He's had cancer since last year and has been treating it but now we just found out that it has spread to his pancreas and the dr's aren't sure how long he has anymore. We just lost his mom exactly a year ago this week. I'm just so sad I don't know what to do. We're getting married in October and I'm just heartbroken that neither of his parents will be there. I love his father so much. I just don't know what to say or how to help. We're still dealing with the loss of his mother and now this. I just don't know what to do.

Gosh, I have no words of wisdom in this one, even tho I went through the same thing (father had pancreatic cancer).  For me, it was one day at a time.

Just wanted to say, I feel for you and big hugs!  We are here for you.

Oh Collette-I'm so sad for you~I lost both my parents within a few years of each other-my father last to Pancreatic Cancer.  My husband was such an enormous source of strength and comfort.   It's wonderful how much you love your FIL-Your love and support will be enormous strength to your FH-you don't have to wonder what more to do.  I feel so fortunate because my mom died a few months after my wedding-so I can understand how sad that will be not to have either parent there.  Maybe you can do a tribute to both his parents as a loving rememberance at your wedding-and know they will be with you both in spirit.

I'm sorry. (((hugs)))

I'm sure just you being there is a comfort to him. I liked KE's suggestion about the tribute. I hope things get better for you.

I am so sorry for you and your FH. I agree with the idea of a tribute. If it's that important that he be there, maybe you could have a smaller ceremony with him there? (and have the big party later as planned)

Collette, I'm so sorry!  No advice, but warm hugs for you and your FH.  My heart goes out to you both.
