Morning Sickness????
Permalink Closed

A question for all of you ladies who are pregnant or have been pregnant...What exactly was morning sickness like and how soon after you got pregnant did it start?  I am really late this month and I've been nauseated the past couple mornings.  This morning was so bad, I thought I was going to have to call in sick for work.

I have no experience with this topic but if you are that late and feeling sick I would be getting a home test today and taking it.  Good luck.

TAKE A TEST!!!  LSU is right - if you are that late and having nausea, your HPT results would probably be pretty accurate.  Afterall, if the hormones are strong enough to give you nausea they should be strong enough to show up on a test.

Just for arguments sake, I occasionally get bouts of yuckiness/sickness that turn out to be nothing.  It usually happens when I'm stressed and haven't gotten enough sleep for a few days running and the hormones from my pill start overly-affecting me.  I'm talking honest to goodness puke/pass out sickness.  Pre-pill, I also worried myself almost 2 weeks late once

Okay, that's my roundabout way to say it could be/it could not be but you won't know for sure until you take a test.

Good luck!!!

Ok how late are you exactly?

I felt morning sickness with my pregnancies RIGHT AWAY, even before I definitely knew that I was pregnant.

Are you having any other symptoms - tiredness, tender boobs, cramps, discharge, etc?

PM me if you need to talk.

that is not necessarily true.. you can have very low levels of HCG that won't show up on a pregnancy test and still be nauseous. It happened to me!

Pregnant? Oh my gosh, Nylabelle, that's the last thing I expected to hear from you!  (That's not meant to come across as negative in any way - just wanted to clarify).

I would take a test too, because peace of mind is the most important thing; I have had a couple scares myself and not knowing was the worst.

On the other hand I have had morning naseau and almost everyone I know has too on rare occasions.  Mine would come if I had to get up earlier than my normal time. My FBIL (future brother in-law) used to get naseated in the morning if he was stressed about a test or something.

I have morning nauseau too, pretty frequently. I have to take my vitamins at night, or I'll throw up. It's probably stress - which can make you late too - but take a test so you'll know. Good luck!

it also could be post nasal drip.  i wake up sick sometimes and that's what it is for me....

i would also take a test (and not drink any alcohol in the meantime).

I felt morning sickness right away - before I knew I was preggo -but then it faded until about week 7 or so then it came back with vengence.

I would also take a test - if you are late then you can probably get an accurate result right now.

Are you feeling anything else unusual?

You are best off knowing at this point so you are sure to take care of yourself if you are pregnant or not.

Take a test! It's horrible sitting around waiting for your period to start.

However, I have lots of girlfriends, not me in particular except when I've been drinking, who are nauseous in the mornings due to stress or whatever. Some gfs can't take their pill in the morning b/c it makes them ill. It happens sometimes and it doesn't necessarily mean anything. But just to be on the safe side, I'd check it out.

I agree with the others. I've felt ill plenty of mornings (I blame it on not having eaten but not having my hunger register as hunger so early, if that makes sense. but a test will give you that peace of mind.

I agree with the others -- take a test (in fact, since it's so early, you may be better off getting it done at planned parenthood or a dr.). Everyone I knew who had morning sickness had it right away, like Karina said, even though I don't think it's technically supposed to start until 6-8 weeks.

But, like the others said, lots of stuff can make you nauseous (post nasal drip does it to me too shopgirl - UGH!). And you CAN worry yourself late.

Good luck!

I think you can go to the doctor or planned parenthood and ask for a pregnancy test using a sample of blood instead of urine. I think when it's this early you might get better results this way.

Thanks for your suggestions/opinions, ladies.  I do have an unusually long cycle and I have been under a lot of stress recently (both at home with the smelly roommate who we are attempting to kick out and won't leave and at work with a promotion and an irritating new boss).  I haven't really experienced anything else unusual and still have all the regular pms symptoms that I normally get.  I did wake up with a migraine yesterday (which causes nausea) and today, I have a slight migraine again (could be stress or pms related--I'm prone to migraines).  I'm just going to wait another day or two and see what happens.

I never got morning sickness, only some nausea.  I told myself if I kept feeling "off" for another day or so and I didn't get my period, that I would take the test.  I took it and it was positive, so my intuition WAS trying to tell me something.  Never before when my period was a little late did I ever feel so differently, it's hard to describe the physical symptoms, but I "felt" pregnant.
