color depositing shampoos?
Permalink Closed

Anyone had any experience using these? I'm naturally dark/dirty dishwater blonde with natural highlights from the sun, and lately I've been thinking about going a bit darker. I don't want to actually dye my hair right now, so I was thinking about trying to use a color depositing shampoo and/or conditioner so I was wondering if anyone had any good experiences with a certain brand or if anyone's tried what I'm about to... (whew, talk about a run-on sentence!!)

Any advice would be appreciatd :)

I have Artec (the one for darker blonde hair) and I have never noticed any difference in my color but it's possible that it's because I never used it daily. I don't wash my hair everyday and for a while I did try to use it every time I washed but it didn't seem like it was doing anything.

well, so I pretty much just said fuck it and went ahead and dyed my hair this afternoon. I was bored, the drugstore was there, so my hair is now kind of a reddish brown. It's still wet, but I think I like it. I used a Clairol herbal essences semi-permanent.

So, there you go. Oh well :)

I have used the Clairol Natural Instincts semi perm to dye my hair brown, it turned out pretty and translucent and has "stuck" well to my porous over processed hair.  I have been using the new Pantene Pro V Expressions color shampoo and conditioner in brown and it seems to help enhance the color.

I have my hair dyed brown and I use Aveda Personal Blends Conditioner. They customize it to my exact hair color at the salon and I use it about every 3 or 4 times I wash my hair. It deposits ALOT of color. In fact I am thinking about not dyeing my hair for a while and just use this and see if I can get close to the same result.
