boots with socks?

so i just got these.  i'm going on a bunch of quick trips in the near future where warm waterproof boots will be needed.  i'm in SC, so i never really need warm boots, or maybe i'm just weird.

the tag on the boots says they shouldn't be worn with socks.  that sounds icky to me. 

do you ladies wear socks with your boots?

i wear socks with my fryes, my miss sixtys, and basically ALL of my boots.  am i the black sheep?

edited to remind you that i don't think these are very fashionable.  so no laughing ;)

I wear socks with all of my boots, except my uggs because of the lamb's wool on the inside. It feels weird to wear socks against that.

I only wear Ugg boots, but I wear socks with them most of the time. I used to not wear socks, but (not to be gross), they do not smell nice if you skip socks (at least mine don't). bleh

If you go to somewhere like Joes or REI, they have a nice selection of socks (silk, wool, heavy, light, waterproof, etc) meant for boot-wear.

I always wear socks with my Uggs. They feel much nicer when they're worn without socks but I just don't feel right not wearing socks with boots when I leave the house. I'd take Elle's advice and buy some special socks.

Umm...yeah....so how do you get rid of the smelly??  I think I might have to put a new pair of Uggs on my wishlishhmm

I would prefer wearing socks with my Uggs, but for some reason every time I do, they slide down while I'm walking and makes it uncomfortable. They're not smelly ..... yet

I read somewhere that putting cat litter into a stocking and putting that into your shoes overnight gets rid of shoe odors, but I haven't tried it yet. My roommate has a cat though, so maybe I'll borrow some kitty litter.


I just got a new pair of Uggs and I will always be wearing socks with them. Also, you can buy new sole inserts for Uggs, so maybe that would help with the stink.

IMO baking soda in a stocking for a day or two in the boots works better!

i wear socks with all my boots except my uggs, b/c it feels nicer, and strangely, warmer to wear them without socks.  guess i better stock up on some baking soda!

Sheepskin adjusts to body temperature - thus giving the ability to wear Uggs in the summer without feeling hot or sweaty. I remember reading WHY you're not supposed to wear socks w Uggs on their website. Its up to personal preference though!

Are those boots you bought sheepskin?

I never wear socks with either of my Uggs and haven't had any stinky issues (the first pair is like 4-5 yrs old). The couple of times I've tried wearing socks with the Ugss, it felt really strange and then what's the point? The sheepskin/wool wicks away any moisture and they mold to the shape of your feet. If you wear socks with them, it just basically smashes all the wool on the bottom flat and thus you may need to get new soles more often. Just my opinion/preference.

yep.  i'm going to wear socks with them.  i don't wear anything else without socks, so i'll stick with what i know.  :)
