I hope this an okay place to ask. I'm not sure what to give at a bridal shower. Can you gals help? Do I get things off the registry or something sexy and cheesy for the bride? What do you brides-to-be would rather receive? Thanks.
Is there a theme to the shower? Sometimes they do themes and you bring something for the theme. Other times you just buy something off the registry. Did they give you any ideas here?
For the bridal shower people typically stick to the registry or give something thoughtful for the couple to use together. The cheesy silly stuff is saved for the bachelorette party. Just remember whatever you buy her everyone in her family is going to watch her open it!

for showers, i usually get something off the registry and then couple it with a related gift that isn't on the registry. like if i were giving something like a set of mixing bowls i would also buy a baking cookbook or a set of monogrammed bar towels with a set of bar accessories. basically something that people might want but don't normally register for, just to make the gift a bit more personal.
i'm going to a shower in 2 weeks and i bought a pasta machine off the registry and also got the new giada d. cookbook from the food network to give with it.
so that's another idea.
for most of the bridal showers i have been to, unless the invite said "lingerie shower" or some other theme, i just got something off the registry and saved the other stuff for the bachelorette party.

I can speak from personal experience that you should always get something from the registry. MY shower was 2 weeks ago and we got a bunch of stuff not from our registry that we didn't want such as towels and things.
