another flatware question

i have been looking at flatware too, and does anyone know what weight/gauge stainless steel is better?  (not sure if weight or gauge is the right term, but i mean the numbers that they put b/f the stainless steel part, like 18/10 stainless steel)  it seems like lower is better (18/8 vs. 18/20), but does it really make a difference?

the stuff i found that i like is pretty unique AND affordable (which is rare for me, b/c what i like is usually way out of my price range), but it's 18/20 stainless ... $40 for 4 place settings ...
