maybe look at the home page in the closet stretch section.  i know that a lot of magazines do that too.  i would do

jeans

dress pants

a long white prairie skirt

 denim jacket

white tank (or any other color, but white tank with the skirt and a belt would be cute).

cute going out top (that could be worn with jeans and the dress pant and with the denim jacket if it gets cold).

i'm just trying to think of stuff that most people have.  my problem is always shoes.  i HAVE TO limit my shoes and dress around them because if i bring brown pants, i will need brown shoes and a brown bag(or something that matches) etc..  so usually i pick brown or black.  also, accessories are a great way to change the look.

i hope that helps, i dated my bf for 3.5 years LONG DISTANCE. so i became the queen of weekend packing.

Well, it's supposed to be in the low 80s here tomorrow, so pack accordingly...

Austin is extremely casual, so I would stick with sandals (not sure that the weather is supposed to be like the rest of the days you'll be here - might want to check the weather channel - seems like it might rain early next week), jeans, a casual skirt for Saturday, etc.  Unless you're planning on a nice dinner somewhere (and even then, nothing here is overly dressy), I would stick with jeans, casual skirts, sandals, etc.

If you have an idea of specific places you're going to go, I might be able to give you more specific advice...

Sorry - I've probably missed you...

There is lots of fun shopping here...I would definitely go to South Congress...a nice mix of high end boutiques and more thrifty-type stores...and several restaurants and other types of shops.

And try the 6th Street and Lamar Blvd. area...there you will find a few high end boutiques (Emeralds, By George, etc.) and some other fun stuff...a fun local music store, a great book store (Book People), our newest Whole Foods for a quick snack and lots of furniture/houseware/design shops and if you walk further west down 6th street, there is a little area with a fun vintage clothing shop, a great bakery and lots of other little shops to browse in.

The South Congress area and 6th/Lamar are very close to each other, maybe a 5 minute drive...anyone would be able to point you in the right direction to find these areas.

Hope I've caught you before your trip!
