I have a job interview wednesday in houston and due to traveling out of a small airport I made early flight plans so I have 6ish hours in houston to waste.  I'm staying downtown at the Magnolia.  What is around there?  Is it anywhere near the Galleria?

Downtown Houston has improved a lot in recent years, so there might be a lot to do there now.  But with that much time to kill, the Galleria is probably the best place to go since you could probably spend days there.  It's about a 15 drive to the Galleria from downtown and I'm sure you could just ask your hotel to get you a cab going there.  To get back to your hotel, just go to the Westin that's in the Galleria and ask them to get you a cab back.

The Montrose area is abt 5 mins from downtown and have a bunch of small boutiques... new & vintage.. kinda fun to explore around there for cool finds.. tho 6 hours is prob too much...

Good luck on yr interview

p.s The magnolia is a chic lil downtown hotel.. enjoy!! :)
