Diet & Exercise 3/11 - Fess Up!
Permalink Closed

I have a feeling that with the lack of posting in this forum that maybe others have gotten lax like me.  So I'm fessing up and starting over today.  I was doing so well yesterday and even ran 7/8 of a mile (very good for me) then I ate some oreos and regular wheat thins, and cheese nips... but today is a new day

B: 100% whole wheat bagel, mixed berry whipped cream cheese, small banana

L: 1 cup strawberries, 1 pear, soy chick sand with cheese

D: either pecan crusted catfish or something shrimpish

I have been obsessively doing wedding research/planning/researching and have really been slacking off on my daily D&E post so here goes:

B:  English muffin w/a little PB, banana, N/F yogurt, coffee

S:  Apple

L:  Carrots, cheese stick, sandwich on WW bread w/ N/F turkey and spinach

S:  Green chai tea

D:  ?

E:  Most likely a 2-3 mile walk with FH

I really haven't been exercising much, maybe just a walk 2 or 3 times a week, but suprisingly I'm slooooooowly starting to lose a teensy tiny bit of weight!  I've been good with my diet though, and have just been trying to eat well and have the 'bad' stuff in moderation.  FH leaves for TX on Mar 25th, and then it will be back to the gym for me!  I need to lose a good 10 lbs before I can do any serious wedding dress shopping . . . . .

Yay!  I'm happy for you.  I'm still excited about being able to jog almost an entire mile yesterday.  I've never done anything like that.  I will admit I think i over did it a tad yesterday since I'm sore today but I'm not quitting now!

oh, I'll be more than sore tomorrow, I already know. But I'll try again on Sun. What makes me think is that last year, around this time, I'd go for a 5 miles run without even thinking about it, and now I a struggling over 1 mile... Oh, well.

Let's get there (to be able to run the 5 miles) together, then we meet and we go running together! (kidding but not too much...)

I slacked off writing this yesterday because I went to lunch at chipotle. (yikes!) But I did skip the tortilla... but not the guac!!! I'm so ashamed. Oh, and I had A LOT of red wine last night to drink. Damn, it was an all around bad calorie consumption day. But it was fun!

B: mini-bagel & r/f string cheese

L: Lean Cuisine something or other - pork with cherry sauce I think & r/f string cheese

S: light yogurt - lemon yum!

D: Going to fancy restaurant tonight so I'm not sure but I'm hoping for a tuna steak or something (since I don't eat red meat and it's a steak joint) Ooohhh... I just looked at the menu online and they have some great seafood choices. What would y'all get? I would normally go salmon but I don't like farm raised so maybe the scallops. Or the ahi tuna. Or the swordfish. Damn! I'm hungry now!

Australian Cold Water Lobster Tail

Chef’s Seafood Selection

Salmon Steak – Farm Raised

Grilled Ahi Tuna Steak

Broiled Swordfish with Mango Salsa

Broiled Mahi Mahi with Avocado-Habanero Pepper Salsa

Jumbo Scallops with Spicy Thai Sauce

Tequila Lime Shrimp

Alaska King Crab Legs

Oh and E: none planned since it's Friday night but we're going to this new dance club after dinner so I plan to shake my booty for a good 2-3 hours!

i've actually been taking the diet seriously and not cheating, just haven't had time to post.  i'll do yesterday's here, since all i have eaten so far today is an atkins granola bar and coffee:

b: kashi puffed rice cereal w/n-f milk, pria bar, coffee with half & half

l: cobb salad

s: handful of almonds

d: lean pocket, lime popsicle

after trying (and failing) at WW, then considering atkins and discarding it because it seems unhealthy, i have decided to follow the advice in my runner's world magazine and just count calories.  for me, it's just easier to figure our calories than points, and if it's all about complicated math i will give up.  so so far i have been keeping it to about 1500 cal. a day and trying to work out when i can (which is hard with my schedule), but i've "lost" the extra few pounds i put on over last weekend (i think it was probably just water-retention, but i don't care as long as it's gone!).  so now i am back to square one.
