vacation apartment rentals in Paris?

The bf and I are looking to go to Paris at the end of April. Has anyone ever rented an apartment in Paris and have a recommendation of a service/place? Or have a recommendation for an affordable hotel? I've googled and found a bunch of places but I don't want to sign up with some sketchy place. Thanks!

oops forgot to mention that we're looking at the Latin Quarter, although we are open to sugggestions on other arrondissements.

You should check out Slowtrav. The site is mainly devoted to people who want to rent apartments or do a longer-term stay in a city so they have lists of agencies and reviews, plus the message board is great.

i've stayed at residences citadines before.  i stayed at the one in bastille, but i think they have locations all over the city.  they're really basic and fairly inexpensive, but still have some of the amenities of a real hotel (like breakfast and a front-desk person who can book things for you).
