things people compliment you on....things you are grateful/happy about?

grateful/happy

1. my family and our health. the roof over our head and food in house. 2 cars we have and my pets.

2. That my mom and pretty much anyone we ask to babysit for us, will. Our kids are so easy and behaved that we've never had that problem (not like family members I know that have problems getting sitters for that reason)

3. That my oldest son is able to stay home and babysit his little brother for a couple hours. AWESOME!!!!!

4. That my husband is my best friend. 13 years married and I can say that without a doubt. I love him to death. He is awesome.aww

5. I have you girls. I love knowing I can come in here and tell you guys some stuff that I can't talk to with people in my life outside of here.

6. that I get to stay home

7. that my son is so talented in basketball. love the game!

8. that I get along well with my MIL. (FIL is for the "cofession" thread, lol!)

thats it for this one as of now....

Compliments:

1. I get lots of compliments on my hair. Its really long, thick, wavy/curly, dark.

2. on my car I drive. We own a Benz but never get compliments on that. But I get so many on my dodge magnum. probably cause my husband pimped it out in a way i guess. ha!

3. my eyebrows.....?

that's it. hopefully if or when I lose weight ( i need to lose like 10lbs.) i will  be getting the "you look so skinny/great" compliments. lol!

Well this is a great idea! I love positive attitudes!

Things I am thankful for:

1. My DH. He is the most amazing man ever. He is always so kind and thoughtful, I feel blessed every day to be married to him. I cant even put into words how much I adore him.

2. My family. My sisters are trully best friends, we have this fantastic relationship, and the older we get the better it gets. My parents have become really big parts of my life as I have gotten older and since it was rocky when I was younger I dont take that for granted ever.

3. My animals, who I adore. They all bring me so much happiness.

4. My friends, I have 4 really good ones and they are pretty special to me!

5. That I have a job in this shitty economy!!!!

1.  The fact that I have a job that I love with a really great boss who thinks I am an asset to the department and the company and actually rewards me.  I never thought I would have that.

2.  My and my entire family's health.

3.  My parents.  They are amazing, giving people who would do anything for thier kids (including my DH) and I will never be able to repay them for all they do for us.  My mom is my best friend and I am so lucky for that relationship!  She bought me a winter coat as an early Christmas present and I get compliments on it almost every day and every time it reminds me of how great she is!

4.  My dog Duke.  He is truly a source of love and joy that no human could ever give me.  I just adore him!

5.  Stylethread and all you girls!!  I have been able to come here and talk about some pretty awful stuff in my life and have gotten some amazing support and advice.

Grateful:

1) I have a job, and I'm pretty secure in it. I'm liking it more and more as time passes and don't want to leave, while at this time last year I was still trying to get out of it.

2) My family is close-knit. And they're all well. And for the first time in a long time, it's been a good year with no big tragedies messing with us.

3) I am so grateful for my boyfriend. He's just wonderful. I feel like we want the same things, and we're moving at the same pace (after this amount of time with past boyfriends, they were already talking about marriage and freaking me out). And he's a complete ball to hang out with.

4) When I brought my dog to the vet the other day, he said that she is looking great for her age (almost 11). That made me so happy to hear, because I feel like every day I only see her deteriorating and aging.

5) I'm pretty happy with my body. Everyone has those "oh my god I'm so fat and ugly" days, but on the whole I'm comfortable with what I've have and what I don't. And those "fat and ugly" days are becoming more and more rare.

Compliments:

1) I've been growing my hair long, and I get compliments on it all the time now. And I'm just loving it myself. It's totally worth all the extra work & time it takes. Hooray!

2) I get compliments on my eyes a lot. One day one of my co-workers told me that I have "eyes like the Caribbean sea" - HAHA! Suave.

3) I like that people compliment me on the things I'm proud of and enjoy - like my baking, my style, and my writing.

OK here goes
I'm grateful for
1. That I landed this amazing job at a great stable company with great pay in a terrible economy. I got lucky,

2. For my dog Cheeser E. Doddle super genius. Best.Dog.Ever.

3. For my new relationship with my Dad. He has surprised me with his thoughtfulness and support through my divorce.

4. I have AMAZING friends and the best in them has really come out through this hard time I'm going through.

5. That I get another chance at love, real love, while I'm still young. That I get to be independant and think for myself again. It's the best feeling to know you no longer have to answer to someone who just doesn't like who you are.

6. For my shrink. he rocks!

Reading everyone's posts makes me happy :) Other things that make me smile, in no particular order:

1. Job security. Thank goodness.

2. The DH. Sometimes I think he should be more this or that (especially now while reading Twilight, I think he sould be the dazzling, passionate, romantic Edward). But he's exactly what I need - patient, kind, fun, gorgeous.

3. The little Jeter. Who knew a dog could bring so much happiness??!?!? Our little family has such fun together.

4. Family - living near them now is one of the best decisions we have made.

5. Being able to do level 3 of the 30-day shred comfortably. Even though I don't have Jillian's rockin' bod, knowing I can do it with confidence and without passing out feels AMAZING!

Compliments:

My style (all thanks to ST)

Grateful:

That my business is good, no signs of slowdown, clients are happy with us, etc.

I love my house and I feel good just being at home. (I'm excessively house-proud.)

My neighbor has found a wonderful woman to share his life with after a long, long period of bachelorhood. And since she's moving in with him, yay, a new playmate for Su.

That my extended family is getting together around the holidays even though my grandmother died last year and she was like the glue that held us all together.

Compliments:

Random, but I got a black plastic beaded bracelet at Target for a buck a few weeks ago, and I get so many compliments on it, it's redunkulous. People always ask if it's antique/vintage.

Lately my clients have been very complimentary about the writing work I'm turning in (press releases and such). And very few changes/edits, so that's nice.

At a dinner party a few weeks ago I was told I'm "entertaining." I think that was in response to my rant about people who make you take your shoes off at their house. Which I hate. I apologize if any of you are like that. I'm not.

Not much, but there you have it.

Mine's pretty much exactly as AlliGurl's except I only have 1 sister, but my love for her is indescribable/incomprable.

Ditto on ST girls!  You guys rock!

Compliments -
  1. They way I dress on most days.  Which I think I usually just throw random things together, without proper lighting or a full length mirror, so I'm happy if I show up halfway decent to work.
  2. My hair.  It's super straight and long, so peopl with wavy/curly hair tend to admire it and how shiny it is. And my bangs - which have kept me from growing it out.
  3. That I'm funny.  Maybe loud and over-the-top but I'm glad my friends think I'm funny. :)

Today during lunch errands I was heading to my car in the parking lot at a Bed, Bath & Beyond. A gomer - hospital talk for old man - stopped me and said something like "You look beautiful. I don't mean to bother you, but you're a good-looking girl, you're dressed very nicely, and I just wanted to tell ya." Then he told me a crappy old joke about a guy who needs a hearing aid, said "have a nice day" or whatever and walked on.

So I thought I'd share that under the "compliments" thread: old men dig me.

I have most of my Christmas shopping completed, and a plan to accomplish the rest.

I have a job.  Sure, I have complaints about it, but at the end of the day, it is nice to have that paycheck coming in doing something that I am pretty good at.

My son (10 years old), is a smart kid, with a sweet disposition.

I have a wonderful fiance.  He is good to me, and isn't rushing me into marrying him.

I have a warm home, and food in the fridge.

I must own 15 pairs of boots.  smile.gif

I just bought the most fabulous eyeshadow palette.  Dior Holiday Collection Warm Palette 801.  It is the best eyeshadow I have ever had.  I love it.  The colors are so classic and great, it makes me feel wealthy when I wear them.  Is that an endorsement, or what?

1. My job. I LOVE it. Seriously in love. I never thought I would feel so positive about a job, but I do. I love my coworkers, I have total freedom, independence, respect, great pay, great benefits, etc. I look forward to going in to the office every day.

2. My clothes. My wardrobe is awesome!

3. My husband and his unconditional love and support...he encourages me in everything I do and is truly my best friend.

4. Pole dancing -- it's the BEST form of exercise and something I have been able to consistently do for almost a year now. So much fun and it has changed my body.

5. Being out of debt!

6. Being young and healthy and feeling like the world is my oyster!

-My 2 year niece is the most adorable thing ever and gives kisses and hugs without any coaxing. I always offer to babysit her when I go to visit and take her shopping with me(she loves Anthropologie) I never correct salespeople when they tell me I have the cutest daughter:)

-Hubby reminded me this week was our 6 month(!) anniversary. I'm horrible at that stuff and though it was sweet that he even thought of it.

First and foremost I am greatful for my health and my family and friends. I am greatful that I am employed and have a house and food on the table. I am greatful for all the little things I have that make life full.

1- We finally had our end of the year reviews and despite being panicky about how I'm doing with all the changes they are making at work, I'm getting a raise smile I still don't know how much yet...it goes in effect Jan 1 so if they don't get around to telling me, I'll find out then. But I'm super happy to be getting a raise at all.

2- I'm also happy that I'm able to donate several coats and toys this year for others who are less fortunate in these hard times. (I found several stuffed toys that still had tags on them that the baby has no interest in while I was cleaning out closets).

3- I'm thankful that gas went down so much that I can fill up by paying less than half what I was paying before.

4- I'm thankful that my family is all in good health and that we have a warm house and hot food....This time last year we had a horrible ice storm and were out of power for 8 days. I'm thankful for my parents and all they do for us. Also for my husband and son and the smiles they bring me.

5- I'm thankful for vacation time that I will use soon and that I am able to carry the rest over to next year instead of having to "use or lose" it.
