over-the-knee boots to work?

Do you think it would be OK to wear over-the-knee boots to work?

I work for a large company in silicon valley. There isn't really a strict dress-code (i guess it's business casual), so most things are Ok to wear..but I'm just wondering if boots like that would be too sexy and/or inappropriate?

I kind of think they wouldn't be OK for work...they might look too much like "Pretty Woman" compared to more "regular" outfits everyone else is wearing

Sigh..that's what I was afraid of. I was thinking of wearing them with tights, if that makes a difference...

What about wearing them with a long (bottom of the knee) pencil skirt?

I wouldn't do it - great for a night out, but not office appropriate.

I don't think it'll fly. I'm trying to imagine an outfit where they could work and I just can't think of a way to tone them down to the point that they'd be appropriate--I think they're just inherently too sexy for the office.

I agree with the others. Even with tights, I don't think it's a good idea for a regular office (they'd probably be fine to wear if you worked in fashion or maybe an art gallery). I've considered wearing mine to and from work when it's cold out, but I would change into shoes once I got into my office.

I would only wear them if the top was concealed with a knee length skirt.

Maybe if they were flat, more riding boot style than heeled? But that would only work in a more casual workplace. For a casual Friday, I might wear something like the farylrobin ringo boot over jeans, since they're flat, which to me tones down the hooker factor.

Nope. Just too sexy. I have seen the classiest women try it in the office and they still looked inappropriate.

I agree with most of the other posters- too sexy for work, no matter how you slice it.
