Hanes Wifebeaters (Update)

Okay, so a bought a pack of Men's medium wifebeaters, like Jen suggested. However, the look very different on my and I was wondering if i bought the wrong ones. I have not washed them yet, so maybe they need to be shrunk first? The style is called "A-shirts". Did I get the wrong ones? THanks guys!

EDIT: Okay, i have washed and dried the beaters. I think that I am going to return them and go for the small because the arm holes are still a bit too big.

Are they just the tank top 3-pack?  If so, that's right.  Here's a pic of what they look like by themselves...and on a man.

I want to buy some too, but i've been hesitating 'cause I looked at a pack and the armholes seemed giganto. Since they are "underwear" will stores let you return them if they are the wrong size? Jen, they looked great on you in the pics, but in person they seem big. i'm sz 2, 34" bust. Convince me they will fit. Ditto Doveanunu's ?'s regarding ribness and shrinkage

                                                      -cheers

I just bought some from Target for $10 and 3 came in one pack. I got size medium and they are perfect!
Maybe the 5 packs are different?

I have the Fruit of the Loom, not Hanes ones, but they're pretty much the same...

Anyways, they shrink a TON.  Even without drying them, my Large one had shrunk up at least 3 inches after washing, so I guarantee they'll shrink.

The armholes are also huge on me, but since I only wear them under things, this doesn't bother me.  I also wear a Small underneath the Large ones to avoid feeling how big the armholes are on the Large and also for extra warmth (still kind of chilly here!)

doveanunu:  You did get the right ones.  They are called "A-Shirts".  I haven't noticed any difference between a 3-pack and a 5-pack, so that's probably not it.

Hope this anyone who was posting!

That's wierd, cause I could wear my beaters by themselfs cause I dont have the problem of the arm holes being too big.

I just bought the Hanes and I can't believe how much they shrunk.  They're way shorter than I want them to be now.  I'm going to order these tonight.  They come in Talls and Extra Talls, so they'd better work!   They're a bit more, but that's okay if they fit well.  My husband likes the Stafford brand T-shirts.  They're soft, don't shrink and hold up very well.

no b/c i am scared that i will wash them and they still won't fit. I would feel bad returning them after that..... I guess i will just suck it up and wash them. I'll let you know what happens.

I don't know if I'm late on this post or if this has already been suggested, but I wear the boys hanes beaters. I'm a size 0/2, 34 bust, and these fit me really well. I can' t remember what size I am in the boys hanes though. I know this is bad, but I just opened a couple of packs at target and brought the different tanks in the dressing room with me to find my size. The arm holes are nowhere near as big as the mens, but they are a bit tiny - and they shrink. The first pack I bought shrunk, but now they work well to wear under the larger boys size I bought and under other tanks.

but are they tight across the bust? since the fabric is fairly sheer i'm worried if they are sheer and snug i'll end up like "hey everyone look at my boobs." i'm sz.2 34 bust as well.

have you tried the boys' sizes? I usually get the boys' L or XL...they're still as long as my C&C tanks, but they're more fitted than the mens' sizes.

layer 2 or 3 of them...they're sheer enough. That's what I do, and I don't think anyone's looking at my boobs.

Thanks for the tip-I'm going to bite the bullet this weekend 'cause I can't get them out of my head. If they don't fit i'll return them.

Off-topic but I actually love this thread because you gals continued the conversation here instead of opening up a new thread. I like efficiency.

I, too might buy some of those Hanes undershirts. I really like my tanks long too for layering and such. Thanks for the idea!
