I'm going to London in 2 weeks to visit my brother who's studying there. I am SO excited since I haven't been in years (7 i think) and I can't wait to get there.
QUESTION: Any jet-lag-aviodance tips? I am getting married in 5 weeks and so NOT have time to get exhausted or sick or eye-bags!
QUESTION: Any london must shop locations? The last time i was there, capri pants were just becoming fashionable....it's been a while...
I love London. Best shopping in the world. Definitely check out Selfridges, a very hip dept. store. Also go to Top Shop on Oxford St. (it's a few blocks down Oxford from Selfridges) for amazingly cheap and very trendy clothes. Office is a great shoe store. There is so much shopping to do!
ambien. just take 1/2 and you will be sleeping like a baby, but when you wake up you won't feel groggy. i'm not the biggest proponent of drugs in most situations, but sleeping on a plane is one exception i am always willing to make and this stuff is really miraculous.

I second this. Ambien is a life saver on long flights.
I'll be in London in 2 and a half weeks (leave on March 16th). Anyway, drink tons of water and take moisturizer and a water spritzer or your skin will get dry and you don't want any flakiness close to your wedding.
Also, I've been talking a ton with my English clients lately and it has been snowy and VERY cold over there, so take a nice warm coat and some good boots.
Finally, take a pashmina for the plane ride. It is great for so many things. If you don't have one, you can get a cheap one (though most certainly fake) on Oxford street for 3 pounds (about six bucks).
I would check out Oasis. Topshop was a zoo when I was in London last (three weeks ago). It also seems to be a bit pricier than it used to be, but maybe that was because I was getting irritated with the mass of people pushing their way around (the exchange rate is also cruddy). They did have a ton of cute stuff though. I got two adorable pair of Faith shoes. Anyway, I was on Oxford street on a Saturday. If you can make the shopping trek on a non-Saturday, I would recommend it. Also, check out the flea markets. I found Indian Slippers for about $12.
Now, you only asked about shopping, but check out the Tate if you have some time. The Rothko gallery is FABULOUS. Also, if you are going to do the theater, I would recommend Blood Brothers. Saw it at the Phoenix and it was wonderful. Finally, Indian food in London is divine, so make sure you grab some of that for dinner one night.

If you can get your hands on Airborne definitely sip that the day before and of your flight. It is supposed to help you from getting colds on the plane!
I used to live in England ! I was totally addicted to Topshop, H&M (we don't have any in California yet ), Zara and Mango. Some other cool stores are Dorothy Perkins, River Island Oasis, and Warehouse. They are all on Oxford Circus - but avoid that place like the plague on Saturday! It will be busy every day, but Saturday is especially bad.
I'm sure your bro will have some cool places to go out and eat, but Timeout is an awesome guide that is published weekly in London.
