I am hoping one of these sweaters will fit my need for something that is roomy, soft and good to throw over both casual work and casual-casual clothes.

Which do you like better?

I like #1 best, then #3, then #2.

I think I'd have to see #1 in person to be sure, but I like it because it's more interesting. And I'm not a fan of #2's pattern.

I like the 2nd one.  I prefer shawl collar/v neck cardigans for layering- they seem easier and to go over more pieces.  They hang the best when they're open.

LOVE #2!!! And then #1. I agree that #3 would probably be too light for what you're describing.

I like the shawl collar the best. But I just really, really love any sweater that keeps my neck warm. Also, J.Crew just put up an extra 20% off of sale stuff and I believe that's on sale, right?

ACK!! RelRel, you are a goddess - thank you for letting me know about the 20% off!! I ordered 1 and 2 and will decide between the two. I called CS, and they said the knit in #3 is very fine and wouldn't keep me very warm, so i nixed it.
