I'm going to NYC next week for my anniversary, but I'm feeling super uninspired lately and have no clue what I want to pack. Anyone feel like playing around and coming up with some inspiration outfits for me?
We'll be there three days. Daytime will be spend mostly doing museums and shopping, one night we have opera tickets and the other we have a reservation at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant.
Also, if anyone has any suggestions of cute, comfortable shoes for daytime walking that would be awesome. I dont' really do sneakers.
I can't believe no one responded! I live in Socal, so I'm not an expert, but I would def say boots, boots, boots - to go with skinny jeans, leggings and all else.
A cute bomber jacket and layers of thinish sweaters. I love to layer tees and sweaters when I go where its cold since you never know what the temp will be - cold outside and warm in the shops and museums. For a show, I'd go dressy and wear heels. I'm loving my leather jacket this year - I'd do this with skinny black jeans and a grey sweater over a white wife beater. but I'd also throw it over a dressy dress.
Bring a big neutral bag so you can schleph your packages around - have fun!
Also - if you have leather pants.....I don't know if they are techincally "in" but I love them with a cozy wrap sweater and think they can be really hip!
thanks! I'm leaving in the morning and actually haven't packed yet, but I have some stuff put together in my head. Both nights I'm doing gray dresses (two different dresses) with black tights and black heels. Tomorrow for shopping I have dark skinny jeans, a black top, and black boots Tuesday we're doing museums during the day, and I'm thinking skinny jeans, flats, and some top (possibly a green anthro cardi over a white tee/ beater) No idea for Wednesday yet, but I'm just going to throw a bunch of tops/ sweaters in my bag.
It's cold as hell here right now (at least in CT), but I second the recommends for comfortable, flat boots for walking in. They'll look good, keep you warm, and be practical. Also lots of wool and layers. Did I mention how cold it is?
haha... I actually don't live that far away (NYC is a short drive, just not one we do very often at all) so I am definitely familiar with the cold!! It should actually be slightly warmer there than it is here.

You sound like you pack like I do! Have a great time.
