i saw you posted about the denim gauchos and that you made your own.  i have a sewing machine and am a pretty decent sewer- could you tell me how you did it?  did you split the seams of a pair you already had and add the lower fabric into the split seam?  i am just trying to figure out exactly how to do it.

that's exactly what i did. i took a pair of jeans that i don't wear anymore and split the outside seam and the inner seam. but i didn't split it all the way, about 3/4 of the way up on each side. the key is to pin the material in place and try them on before you sew it all together.  i had to toy with the fabric a bit, b/f i got them to fall exactly the way i wanted. hth! let me know if anything's unclear.

thanks that made complete sense!  i'll try it out!  lucky for me, i have really short legs, so i know i have some jeans in my closet that will work!
