Buying beads to make necklaces???
Permalink Closed

So I really want beautiful beaded necklaces.. preferrably stone and not plastic. But I can't deal with the prices. I was at Bendel's the other day and they had someone there making necklaces, but they were charging $$$$$$$$$$$$.. and the necklaces weren't even clasped or anything!! Just on a string!

I was thinking, "hey I could do that." So my next step?

Where do I buy beads? I know there are alot of stores in mid-town. Does anyone have a favorite store? Any suggestions?

I started out going to my local bead shop, but it was so expensive! I really like firemountaingems.com for high quality stones, they have a huge selection and the lowest prices. They have an "outlet" too. If you want the cheapest, I have bought tons of jade, kyanite, and quartz beads off of ebay for cheap! If you don't mind that they are not the best in clarity...etc. I think it gives the stones some character. If you want, I can give you some names of ebay sellers I like, just PM me.
