My first phone was a Motorola (the v60) and it had the best reception in the world. Motorolas are probably the best with reception. I don't know anything about Samsung but I'm a bit iffy on the Kyoceras. But then I've only ever had Motorola and LG phones and been very happy with both. I actually have an LG picture phone (or I did until i dropped it in the rain a couple of weeks ago) and I was wondering what model you have.
The Kyrocera was actually the 2nd most expensive one, but I have never heard anything about them.
This is the one that I have LG VX6000
The front screen has stopped working twice and they didn't know why and then I couldn't get any reception on my phone. I am currently on my 4th phone of the same model. I really wish I would not have gotten it, but it was the first camera phone that Verizon had so I got it right when it came out.

That's my phone!!! I got it for the same exact reason too! (Verizon is my provider as well). I'm sorry yours has been so evil to you!
My phone was fine until I was stupid enough to drop it...well at least I'm getting the 6100 as a replacement. I know they stopped making the 6000 though recently...hope they fixed the bugs...
i voted for the motorola based on reputation but i've never had one. i LOVE my LG VX7000. i've had no problems & get great reception. i've played w/ that kyocera b4 cuz i thought the way it opens is cool but it feels like a toy & the buttons r hard to push.
I have a Samsung phone (not the same model) and I've been really happy with it. I've even dropped it several times on concrete and it's still working fine, only a minor scratch!
#2 hands down! I had the motorola v710 (someone stole it) I LOVED THAT PHONE!
PLus when it rang it said: CARMEN! CARMEN! CARMEN! The features on the phone are the best. I used to have a v60 and it's just like it but more features (camera, video, you can also block incoming calls)
