I am soo sorry, this totally sucks. But I thought the boobs were going to be an Xmas present? Anyway, I'm sure you'll get them soon, maybe even better and less expensive ones than you would have otherwise.

that totally sucks! right before the holidays, too. I too thought the boobs were a gift... there's no way he can follow through with that? that's an awful lot to psychologically wrap your head around to only postpone it longer...

Well, the surgery was mostly a gift. I was going to pay for a very small portion by myself because I didn't want him spending all of that money. Also, I need to look for another job even though it is just temporary and the recovery time is just too long. For example, if I have to take a waitress/bartending/retail/nanny type job I wouldn't be able to do something like that for at least a month after surgery.

Honestly though, even though I am sad about the surgery it isn't the end of the world. I am more sad about being laid off. I really like my job and my boss and the people that I work with so that hurts more than anything. I've never been laid off before...

That being said the BF has informed me that he will still get me fabulous Christmas gifts (which he always does) and seeing as how he owns our condo I luckily do not have to worry about how I am going to pay my rent. I thought about it last night and I don't really have any bills, no cc debt, my car is paid off, student loans are in deferrment because I am in school, so I know I will be okay even if I have to take a major pay cut (which I will).

Consider yourself blessed that you dont have any bills since you lost your job, your in a much better sitation than so many other people!! :)

Sorry about being laid-off, it totally sucks. DH was laid off the 1st week of October. Like AllieGurl said, you are very blessed because you have been financially responsible. I am so glad we saved up money all year and will come in handy for several months!

I'm sorry - job stuff is hard. It's a terrible economy, but I'm so glad you were already taking steps to move your career forward with a degree. The boobs will happen later. And it doesn't hurt to keep in touch with the people you really liked - they'll still be around. Hugs.
