How on earth do I get the picture below as my avator?  I tried to do it through the instructions under my profile, but it didn't work.  Something really blurry and tiny became my avator (it could very well have been my picture, smushed).

did you try increasing the size of it/dimensions in the boxes below where you put the url for the image?


I have had problems too - I had my image in shutterfly and it wouldn't show - I ended up using my picture from my bio in stylethread instead... maybe someone has a good suggestion on where to host images?

Woohoo!  It worked!  I signed up for a photobucket account and put my picture there.  Shutterfly was being stupid...

Yeah! I'm glad it worked.  I just store all my pictures over at photobucket now cause I can get it to work over here.

shoot! am I the only one that cant do it? When I try it says that it needs to be smaller than 32768, and I'm using shutterfly.com and I've tried to just download it from my computer. didn't work


Help me.......

Your picture is too big. Try resizing it.

^^ you need to get an image editing program (there's a few on download.com) i use IrfanView because it's a small program and it's free. I only use it to resize pictures in a flash.

I also have Paint Shop Pro but it cost $$ (dunno how much) but I don't use it often cause I don't do web design stuff.

You could also upload your pics to www.photobucket.com and they have a resizing option. My avatar is uploaded to there and I resized it to 25% of its original size. HTH!

Okay - I am at work so picked and avatar from the library.  But how the heck do you change what ever brand name is under the avatar/  Why am I "Nine West"? Their shoes are cute but always have problems! LoL!

You can't change that, Viv. The shoe name is based on your number of posts, so as you post more, the name will change to a more expensive brand.

I must be the only stupid head that can't do this - I went to photobucket & resized & it says that it is 71x54 - 9 K. Is that still too big? I am clicking on the picture & copying the link & putting it in the area that says avatar url after I click the "specify remote location" link.

I am usually pretty computer savy (well, marginally) -I don't know what i'm doing wrong, but I want my little baby kitty on there!!! WAAAAA
