Need a Christmas party dress!

I need a dress for our work Christmas party. It's pretty fancy, bordering on black tie but I don't want to wear a long dress. It's on the stage of the Nutcracker so I want something fanciful if that makes sense? In the $300 or less category.
Only no's are strapless or anything red.

Do you need to buy a new one? I think that your gold Nicole Miller dress and your gold Prada shoes that you wore for your 30th birthday would be fabulous and super chic!!!

Yup, need a new dress. I actually ebayed that Nicole Miller dress becuase I've lost 25 pds since then and it was huge on me as are most of the fancy dresses in my closet!

Isn't that a dress from Project Runway?  I feel like one of the designers did that dress for a challenge.  I can't remember which one...  Off to look up the dress...

I really love this dress! I know you are an hourglass, so I could forsee it needing some tailoring if you get it, but if the waist was taken in I think it would really show off your tiny waist!
