So I have an update.......

It happened, my grandma finally passed last night around 6:30 pm. I miss her so much but am relieved that she is finally resting. The good thing, it was only my sister and I who were with her in her last moments, so I had some private quiet time with her.  There's so much family drama right now that it's hard for those of us who TRULY loved her. Of course there are always the assholes that want to act all dramatic and be making huge scenes, which makes this even harder. I want to thank you all for the prayers and support. I don't know that I'll be around much in the next few weeks, I'm not really in the mood for very much. Right now I think what keeps me moving through the day is Mimi. I just wanted to update you guys and say thank you.

I'm so sorry, Cindy.  I hope the experience of being there wasn't too difficult.  I'm also sorry you have to go through the family drama -- I was astounded at how ridiculous people could be during times like this.

Oh, Rosie. I'm so sorry. I don't know if it will make you feel any better, but when my grandma finally passed away two years ago (after a long sickness), I knew it was for the better. She just didn't want to live any longer and her body finally gave her what her heart had been asking for- to take the pain away and to be with my grandfather again. She died watching the sunset over the river where she had many happy times with her grandchildren and children.

Your grandma was probably very happy to send her last moments with you and your sister. And I'm glad that she got to see Mimi grow as a little happy baby.

Family drama always comes along with the death of loved ones, I just don't understand people who have to bring up past arguments and petty crap during all the grieving process. It's happened to just about everyone I know when somebody loved passes away. Perhaps it's just some people's way of getting through hard times and perhaps some people are just shits.

I'm also so sorry. I can tell how close you were to your grandmother and that you were a loving granddaughter to her. Mimi will help you get through this because through her your grandmother's spirit will live on. I see my grandfather who has passed away through my sons all the time. Especially through my youngest who was named after him and born on his birthday. It is amazing.

Thank you guys, it means a lot. I've been trying to keep busy. My mom asked me to make the pallbearer's boutonnieres and a photo collage as well. I found a poem and included that too. I'm going back home tomorrow morning because the rosary is tomorrow night and the funeral is Friday.
